    its scary isn't it.

Why don't they act calmly and bring signs and literature describing the low crime rates of CHLers and big signs with CHL requirements, with other signs refusing counterarguments one by one? Others could have signs with events where CHlers saved themselves or others from crime. DOn't get drawn into the mass shooting nonsense, and instead talk about fragile coeds walking in the dark to their cars or between buildings. That will get positive attention and notice.

Crime is rising at UT. CHLs are an antidote. publicize it.

Seems to me that putting on this show would take a lot of energy and time. Having these it would be better to allocate them towards a program that invites the cowardly Libtards to an event that teaches them about firearms/safety/shooting. Invite them to shoot FOR FREE and get some to see that it isn't scary and what the side of 2A looks and feels like. If you get them to the range you'll have a far better chance at changing their minds. This bloody campus guns will save you routine is all bravado and will not work. Total waste of time and is more grand standing. Invite people to go shooting.

TSRA just issued an alert basically saying this is not a good idea and does not show responsible gun owners in a good way.

I have mixed feelings on this issue. One is that I would not want to be part of it and certainly will get lots of bad press for gun owners. Second, is that without an "over the top" event, we would get no press coverage at all. So, is bad press better than no press?
The suggestions about getting anti-gun people to go to the range and otherwise be come educated is fine, just that the anti-gun people for the most part are not interested in being educated, they have already been told how to think.

I was being sarcastic and somewhat of an ass in the post above....and I wasn't talking about the sheeple...

There are many ways of converting folks to the truth. How about giving free lectures and seminars on active shooters? What about sponsoring free or discounted training to students? How about volunteering your time for university/community projects that show your group and message in a positive light? There are countless ways to educate the public that can and would be more effective than what they are planning.

    just my humble opinion....

And remember too, that there will be huge media and public pushback at "mocking" mass shooting tragedies.

There are so many better ways, but some TX pro gun groups are not known for their thought processes. Just ask Kory Watkins.

Unfortunately, it's antics such as these that get all the publicity. Those who voice their opinion in a more rational manner, such as these pro-gun students below, go largely ignored...

The media obviously wants to portray the pro-gun community as being crazy lunatic, and thanks to the likes of Cory and C.J. Grisham, they get all the fodder they need. Despite what Watkins and Grisham think, they don't represent the majority of gun owners and actually do more harm then good; but they still disillusionly still see themselves as some kind of martyrs.

We'd all be better off if the likes of such morons just go away and leave the effort to those adult and smart enough to move it forward!

    Cheers! M2

Worse than a "C" movie, but not as stupid as they could have been. Still, there are better ways to get the message across.

Clever that they changed the location to demonstrate response time.
Better than I expected but they could have done without the exaggerated clowning of the "gunmen" - it seems to me this undermined the seriousness of the message.

You wouldn't want it to look TOO real and the police engage someone who was just an actor... and yes, it was planned all along to move the location. It wasn't "cowardice" as the counter protesters suggested. That was a pre-printed narrative. Also, the event had been planned since October 2nd or before (That was when the Facebook event page was created) so it wasn't just a response to the San Bernadino shootings.
