its scary isn't it.
Why don't they act calmly and bring signs and literature describing the low crime rates of CHLers and big signs with CHL requirements, with other signs refusing counterarguments one by one? Others could have signs with events where CHlers saved themselves or others from crime. DOn't get drawn into the mass shooting nonsense, and instead talk about fragile coeds walking in the dark to their cars or between buildings. That will get positive attention and notice.
Crime is rising at UT. CHLs are an antidote. publicize it.
TSRA just issued an alert basically saying this is not a good idea and does not show responsible gun owners in a good way.
Sent via email. I received one as well.Link?
And remember too, that there will be huge media and public pushback at "mocking" mass shooting tragedies.
There are so many better ways, but some TX pro gun groups are not known for their thought processes. Just ask Kory Watkins.
Unfortunately, it's antics such as these that get all the publicity. Those who voice their opinion in a more rational manner, such as these pro-gun students below, go largely ignored...
The media obviously wants to portray the pro-gun community as being crazy lunatic, and thanks to the likes of Cory and C.J. Grisham, they get all the fodder they need. Despite what Watkins and Grisham think, they don't represent the majority of gun owners and actually do more harm then good; but they still disillusionly still see themselves as some kind of martyrs.
We'd all be better off if the likes of such morons just go away and leave the effort to those adult and smart enough to move it forward!
Cheers! M2
You wouldn't want it to look TOO real and the police engage someone who was just an actor... and yes, it was planned all along to move the location. It wasn't "cowardice" as the counter protesters suggested. That was a pre-printed narrative. Also, the event had been planned since October 2nd or before (That was when the Facebook event page was created) so it wasn't just a response to the San Bernadino shootings.Clever that they changed the location to demonstrate response time.
Better than I expected but they could have done without the exaggerated clowning of the "gunmen" - it seems to me this undermined the seriousness of the message.
