All - reaching out to the locals to see if someone can help me out and we can figure out appropriate compensation. :)

I need to rent a skid-steer on Saturday for some heavy yard work. I don't have a vehicle that can tow it. All-in, about 9,000 lbs with trailer - more than a simple ball hitch can handle (and more than my V6 should @ 175,000 miles). I have the rental place... just not the truck to haul it with. Trailer is included with the rental, so we don't need that - just something to two it to/from.

Pickup would be at 8AM near Pond Springs/McNeill/183, return would be at 2PM. I live near Parmer/Mopac, so about 10 miles each way. All you have to do is hook up, drive, disconnect (we'll park the trailer in the street in front of the house), then do the same thing in reverse later that afternoon.

If you're interested, let me know what you'd want in return. Cash, beer, food, ammo... help with something on your side later (perhaps picking up/hiding Christmas gifts in my garage, etc.)?

PM me if interested or reply in-thread.

Rental places usually deliver too but may be more than you are wanting to spend.

I won't be back in town by then or maybe I could help.

    Good luck.

I can rent a truckload of mexicans with shovels for cheaper than skid steer + delivery 2 ways. :)

You not taking into account liability for getting to and from. Things happen. That $150 for both could be a bargain.

This, plus usually a rental company will get it the next day, in your case Monday. You probably only get 8 hours on a one day rental but then you can spread it out and use it all up.

Less than that on a Saturday. They're open 8-3 and closed Sunday.

For what I need, 4-5 hours is enough time. Just have to take six inches of dirt out of the front yard (it's too high) and going to dump it in the back where the septic tank used to be. After that, move some dirt near the street where we're going to put in a retaining wall, but I'm not digging that completely out just yet (not ready to frame the wall in yet, so moving 90% of the load and will dig the rest out by hand later).

Depending on the half ton, 9000 lbs is easily doable if you've got a tow package. I've towed 9300lbs with the HEMI in my 1500 and barely felt like I was towing anything except on large inclines. It's only rated a 5 ton hitch. Engines wise, I bet it could handle more, but I'm sure the transmission wouldn't be too happy. I'd help if I were closer.
