If he's just asking, at worst couldn't they throw him for trespassing if he refuses to leave? I don't see the harm in asking and then discussing it with them. Something else had to occur.

From the videos I saw he had a sit down with school officials and police to discuss concerns stated he likely would not open carry but made no promises. The next day while picking up his son the officer hassled him asked if he was concealed carrying at which he did not answer directly but that he had in the past. He was asked to leave the grounds and go to the sidewalk and his son would be brought out to him there.

I know I'm a sponsor and I try to steer clear of the heavy stuff most of the time. But just because someone owns a gun doesn't make them my friend or on my side. I don't know what this guy really did or didn't do. I do know negative press was generated because of his conduct. We all have rules to live by. You can buck if you want, but the results are all earned with no tears warranted.

Yeah I get that. I think a felony as punishment is out of line for breaking a rule where there was no injury. If you want to fine someone or give them a 1000hrs of community service for violating the rules of civility in said community that's one thing, but I can't say it's ever appropriate to take away someone's rights for life unless they've violated the rights of another person.

I can understand not wanting to get into the "heavy stuff."

His source, as he stated was off a news channel broadcast.
That's good enough for me, if the news gave out bad info, that's not on him.
