Guy who moved safes told me this is what he did. He'd go buy old range balls. Once the balls are under it, it moves with ease. Just need a helper to keep sweeping balls under it. Tough going over carpet, but it still works. Over a hard floor, it glides.

Guy who installed mine had a special dolly/hand truck that would roll and change direction easily. I helped spot him going through one real tight spot, but he moved it and installed it himself.
So what I'm reading is it takes a lot of balls to move a heavy safe....

With a good dolly, a single person can move a lot of weight. The problem with too many hands on a heavy, relatively small object is that everyone pushes and often the force puts more weight on the other person making the object feel heavier. Unless you're climbing stairs or elevations on the floor, it's just a matter of balancing the load.

I moved an old Air Force map safe into my house a few years ago It weighs about 700-800 pounds. Luckily I have a ADA wheelchair ramp wrapped around the house from the previous owner. I used 4 pieces of oilfield drill pipe and a come-along wench to get it in the house. The hard part was getting the pipe lined up so it would roll in the direction I wanted.

I used a pallet jack to move a 800lb safe on my last move. Leaned the safe over and put 4x4 wood blocks under the middle of the safe and then slid the jack under it. Made easy work of it.
