Really? At ASC, i could see how you could crawl under the table at 50 or 100 yds, but standing isnt even possible right? There is this barricade in front of the shooter so that they pretty much only see the target when sitting in the seat. ASC is my go to outdoor range, shouldve mentioned that in original post, but i didnt think you could stand and shoot at 50 yds.
Not all lanes have the barricade.

The 50-yard lanes to the left of the main gate/entrance don't have the drop-down barricade. The 100-yard lanes about 10 or 15 benches to the right also don't have the barricade.

I haven't shot there in over a year so things could be different now, but I haven't heard as much.

    That's about right.

It may not be, Cam. I'm supposedly in Spring but I've gotten mail addressed to me in Spring, Klein, Tomball, and The Woodlands. It seems when you're in the unincorporated part of the county, you can sorta call your location whatever you want.

I sent an email requesting where the range day will be held, this is the reply.....

"At the Outdoor Range in the Magnolia area. It is not open to the General Public.
    There is no address."

So this rules out a new SGA outdoor range, lol.

Would like to put it into the first post when we get a location, even if it is limited access.

About putting the SGA outdoor range on the map, it might just be possible in the near future.

SGA just sent out an email advertising:

    Save the Date
    Saturday July 30th, 2016

    Multi-manufacturer demo day at
    SGA outdoor range near
    Magnolia.
    Reps from SIG, Springfield, H&K,
    Swarovski, and F-1 (quality AR's
built in Houston) will all be in
    attendance offering demo's and
    deals.
    ...more details later.

If they're going to do that, they might actually have to tell people how to get to the range. I'll keep my ears open and post back if I find out anything useful for this thread.

I have yet to read my email from them, but thanks for this.

No, you have to have a DD-214, be able to show police employment, or complete their first two pistol classes if your a civilian.

Dang. Down Range is just 5 miles from my house. I drive past it nearly every weekday and I've never noticed it. But I don't meet their requirements and my current outdoor range is way, way cheaper.

I went to Blackwood Gun Club yesterday. Previously Gun Emporium. I was very impressed. I think this will be my go to outdoor range from now on. Spoke with the owner and his hopes are to have up to 500yds with steel at; 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, & 500. He did mention you'll have to qualify to shoot the longer distances but hasn't choose what that will consist of. Also no 50bmg due to the damage it does to the berms.
