    This:

Change of venue for October meet. Same dates, new venue.

    means that this:

I'm planning something for folks with big pistols.

will most likely NOT come to pass.

Nevertheless, I'm not unhappy about the change of venue and am looking forward with anticipation to wherever we wind up.

Does my 10.5" .44 Mag Super Blackhawk qualify as a "big pistol"?

    Crush, kill, mangle, maim, destroy.

This "new venue" thing could really screw this up for me. Depending, of course. Knew it was going to happen eventually, but... Ehh, we'll see.

Regardless of venue, there WILL have a meet somewhere because I already put in for that week off.
    Hopefully, we get it together.

    In Bens terms, probably not.

Why I asked. Once upon a time, a large frame .44 was considered a big pistol, but nowadays there are entrants that make it pale, in comparison.

Not too long ago, I got the opportunity to shoot a .500 Mag that just dented my confidence, heavily. .44 Mag holds no fear for me, but the .500, well, let's just say I'm not anxious to go there, again.

    Crush, kill, mangle, maim, destroy.

    I haven't found a load yet that I can't handle in a 44 mag, which kind of makes me want a 460 S&W next. I'm a recoil junkie at heart. :p

Depends on the pistol and load. Load some of this:

    into this:

and you'll likely change your mind.

I know from experience, having shot an early T/C with the light barrel and those terrible first-gen grips chambered in .44 Magnum. It was a very painful experience.

Side note: Buffalo Bore is adamant in their warnings that their heavy-bullet, +P+ .44 Magnum ammo should never be used in S&W revolvers. If it weren't for that, I'd post a picture of a 26-ounce (!) Model 329 as an illustration of another painful combo.
