What a great event, best food we've had yet (I'm gonna need a few dozen of those deviled eggs) and the range was IMO a better overall experience than hicksville (love hicksville, but I think we all know why a change was needed).

Thank you to everyone who pitched in, who let my girlfriend and I try out various gems of the firearms world and to Clarke for letting me test sit in his truck!

I am home and recovering. What an amazing time! I'd like to thank Jeremy for all the ground work getting this venue scouted and answering questions and running the attendance thread. Huge thanks to Robert for organizing the Lunch, it was one of the best lunches we've had. Giant thanks to Jeff (Redneck Ranger) for all of his assistance- the range facilities were TOP NOTCH, the staff was super friendly, and TSSR made us feel welcome and safe. I'd like to thanks A&P Armory, Kevin (Texcross), Jimmy JRB, Hoji, and Josh Rebel (and probably others I am forgetting) for the raffle donations. I want to apologize to Clarke and Jared's brother for screwing up your chances to win the raffle. I blew it an I am sorry.

Took lots of pics, so here we go...

    The latest model for Lantac-

    More family pics-

Grand Champion Deviled Eggs, thanks Ms. OrbitUp-

Some of my personal favorite shots, I look over and find Jeremy's son sticking his hand in my cooler. I thought he needed help. Nope, he just wanted to try to freeze his hand and was so excited when he got mission accomplished. I hate this Yeti cooler, but this was the one moment I appreciated having it. Haha..

Thanks everyone. Had a good time. The food was excellent as usual and thanks to everyone who shared their bangsticks.

I feel bad for Clarke though. First my Beretta gave him cancer and then THE MAN stole his winning lotto ticket.

Oh! I got pulled over for speeding just down the road. The cop was really cool and asked what we had been doing told us that's where he shoots. He even asked what we thought of the place.

    No ticket BTW.

That meet went off pretty good, huh??? Rick (the owner), James (the manager), and Jeff were all extremely helpful from back when I was just tossing the idea around all the way up until I was leaving the day of the meet. Rick and James did everything they could legally do to accommodate us:
    -special pricing
-opened up the archery range to campers
-stayed later than usual for any campers
-arrived earlier than usual the morning of the meet
-made sure the skeet area was prepped for the meet (cleared a lot of brush off the land that had piled up from them expanding the berms)
-completely overhauled the tac-lanes with brand new shooting positions - including several new positions that no other ranges in the area have. I didn't catch the name of the man who put those together, but he worked hard to get everything set up in time.
-made sure the berms would be ready in time for the meet
-opened the range up to full auto earlier than they were anticipating, beginning the day of our meet
-worked with the CHL instructor who had the classroom reserved for the day of our meet and got him to let us have the room instead (thanks Bruce Kaase!!!)
-shut down a pistol bay to outside shooters while we conducted our .22 competition
-brought in full staff of RSO's for our event
-Jeff was helping some people haul loads to and from their vehicles on occasion
-James mentioned possibly bringing in port-a-johns for the next meet if we'd like them
-They're still going to be adding even MORE to the berms and adding improved baffles to the rifle area
-I'm sure there's more that I'm just not thinking of.
Rick, James, and Jeff all made it very clear that they wanted to do everything they could to make us as comfortable as possible for the meet, and they wanted to encourage us to stay with TSSR. In my opinion, they did a great job and I really hope we made a good impression on them in return. I would like to see us return to TSSR in the future.

On the TGT side, thank you SO MUCH Robert for heading up the lunch and everyone involved in bringing food and supplies. The classroom did turn out a little small, but I think if we could have worked it out to where we had both rows of tables for sitting, there would have been enough room. We're already brainstorming ideas to improve on the seating for the next meet. One thing I think would work out nice is if for future meets, we plan ahead and try to get everyone with canopies to park together and put the canopies together. I've seen this done at other local events and it works out really impressive.

I really enjoyed seeing all of you. It's always great to see old familiar faces, and I enjoyed seeing some of the new faces as well. Hopefully some of those who couldn't make it to this one will be able to make the next one, and maybe if anyone shy'd away from this one until they saw how it went will be encouraged to make the next one. I would love to see our attendance double for the next meet. It will be a seating challenge for lunch...bring on the challenge!
