What?!? Are you implying that liberals are manipulating facts to push their agenda?!? Say it isn't so...

    [/sarcasm]

Some Americans and other idiots cannot fathom the use of a firearm to ensure security. One of the dumbest things this country did was disarm Afghans following the war there. We promised them we would protect them, and now we've left them high, dry and disarmed and we're nowhere to be found. Taking an Afghan's AK is tantamount to taking someone's cell phone in the Western world. I would argue that it's even worse, given that no one needs their cell phone to survive (they just feel they do).

I have no idea how true it is. But I've seen a few memes about the muderrate if you removed NYC, Chicago, LA, and Detroit? From the list we fall down to the bottom 3-4 of countries in the world in murder rates.

I recall having seen a write up about that as well. If we took the top 4 or 5 cities (and primarily the inner cities where a lot of gang violence festers) that the US would be one of the most peaceful countries on the planet. Similarly, if you took South Central and dumped it into Tokyo, they'd be one of the most violent. Can't recall where I saw it though.

The worst part about these statistics is that suicides are lumped in with violent crime murders in the US. It varies every year but usually ONE HALF of the violent crime killings are suicides!

If a person wants to end his/her life, that's a personal decision and it's their own choice. It is intolerable that our Rulers use these suicides for political fodder by classifying the suicides exactly the same as violent murders! I can't think of many things that are so blatantly false and manipulative!

Next time you see those US murder statistics, cut our figures in 1/2 and THAT will give you a more accurate picture of our crime rates as compared to other nations.

The worst part is they almost never compare general murder rates or even violent crime rates. Yes countries that heavily restrict gun ownership have less gun murders but those have shifted to knives and other weapons and usually the rate magnifies (especially in places like England where even defending yourself can be criminal). Shit drives me nuts that they focus so narrowly on the method of death when it really doesn't matter because dead is dead.

I think most leftists that talk about international murder rates intentionally only discuss those committed with firearms... because such a list would necessarily force the U.S. to be near the top due to the availability of guns.

Now compare murder rates overall per capita regardless of how it was committed. Only a liberal values deaths committed by guns. If I had a loved one that was murdered by a thug, I would care less what weapon was used. Or what freaking FLAG he or she sported.

    texas skeeter,

And then there was the District of Columbia's "Mayor for life", Marion Barry, who once bragged (4X in the same speech, believe it or not!!!) about how PROUD that he was that DC had "many school-FREE drug-zones".
(Btw, Barry later went to the federal pen for consuming cocaine.)

    yours, satx

    texas skeeter,

YEP. = Barry was once known as, "Our crack-smokin' Hiz Honor", when I lived in Southwest DC.
(Fyi, I was present when he made his notorious "school-FREE drug zone" speech.)

Three such zones come immediately to mind. Congress, Senate, and White House. Add in State Department, HHS, IRS, etc. and the number is staggering. What was it Liddy Dole said of DC, "It's too small to be a state and too big to be an insane asylum."

it is not deceitful, it's stupid! being a Canadian living in America I can tell Canadian citizens are not nearly as educated about gun ownership as your average American, the average Canadian does not own guns like Americans and yet look up the murder rate in Canada, gun deaths are seven times in America what they are to Canadian 2015 alone, unfortunately that does not tell the whole story.
disparity in population, laws, etc., have a massive baring on these stats! with all this said Canadian gun laws are still better than the UK., that place is hilarious!

also keep in mind, developing countries that are used in comparison gun-related murder stats are not world powers like the U.S.
to me comparing countries for any reason is senseless! Im grateful to be able to protect myself, especially in Texas!

here is stupid law protecting yourself in Canada, someone breaks into your homestead in Canada, you are able to use equal force that the perp uses on you first????? hummmmmm!!!!! hold on THIS IS A WAIT AND SEE TYPE DEAL!LOL! so you are laying there wounded by a gun shot, then it's time to shoot back? LOL! be glad you get to own a gun as easily as you do in America!

No correlation between tough anti-gun laws and intentional homicide rates can be shown without manipulating the data.
It's a no brainer to show a correlation between urban poverty and intentional homicide rates.
The liberal mind knows it, just won't accept it because it fits neither their narrative, nor their agenda.

It's much more than just the anti-gun laws too. It's the whole inner city gang culture that perpetuates itself through government largess that is always there to fix any mistake that isn't a strictly legal one. I think first and foremost it about the single motherhood epidemic in these areas especially.
