Anyone know whether it's better to send DD214 and CHL-100 by email or US Mail? I would assume it would be handled quicker by Email, but then again...wouldn't more people be emailing than sending it through US Mail? I sent it by email and now wondering whether I did the right thing... lol

On 15 December completed my fingerprints and uploaded all supporting documents. Status says it was mailed yesterday. 13 days total which is not bad at all especially considering Christmas.

I would guess that simply scanning everything into a PDF and sending it by e-mail is the best way to do it. Everything is electronic these days...even your finger prints were submitted to them digitally, so when you send something via e-mail it is immediately associated with your application number. If they have it electronically it is all in one place, nice and neat.

Sounds good, but keep in mind it's a "gubberment" agency. :green:

Great... just got an email today from RSD. Apparently my instructor used the 08/14 version of the CHL-100, so I have to wait until he gives me a new one and then wait to see when RSD gets around to checking it...

Well, I can only speak for myself, and I found the process to be very efficient and fast.

Doesn't make a difference, don't worry. Source: I mailed some documents, and uploaded scans of others, and I was still at the lower end of comparable time lines from start to finish.

I applied on the night of December 23rd, emailed CHL-100, and DD-214, and my status changed to print pending on January 3rd.

Finally got the correct CHL-100 from Instructor and uploaded on 2nd January.

We'll see what happens from here... :/

Everything submitted correctly as of January 2nd, but still no update, and website still shows Finger prints as well as background check "Under Review."

I had a BS arrest on 16 October 2010 in which the case was REJECTED by the county attorney by 18 October(would've been sooner if not for the weekend.) I definitely disclosed it on my Online CHL Application, including that the case was rejected.

My question is should I upload a copy of the "Case Rejection Form" from the county attorney to help in their "review" IMMEDIATELY?

Or should I wait until they ask for it...if they ask for it?

CHL 100 secure emailed on Jan 21st

I know it can take some time to process, but I notice there is zero information from the status site. It's always:
LICENSE APPLICATION STATUS: If you have a pending License to Carry a Handgun application, please allow sufficient time for processing. If you have not already done so, please submit all of the items listed on the checklist you received. DPS will notify you by mail if further information or additional documents are required. Once the application and documents have been received by Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page.

Please Note: Once a license has been issued, this service will no longer be available.

I figure based on the posts I've seen here and elsewhere that once they look at everything then some kind of an update will magically appear on the site. However I can't help but wonder if things didn't get mixed up, hopefully won't be long to see something different.
