Every single of them wants me to sign BOS or wants to meet and transfer via FFL. Last I heard it was totally legal. While all talking about gun rights and blah blah, and when it comes down to walk the talk, most chicken out or are tooo paranoid. :banghead:

P.S I always offer to flash my CHL nothing more than that.

Never heard this. FTF is FTF. Cash and a handshake for private property is all that is required. Just don't do business with a private party any other way. If they don't want to do that it's ok. No hard feelings but they lost a sale.

Never happened to me. Lots of FTF transactions. You have to vet the other guy before you meet. If he wants a BOS or 4473 he's a newbie and doesn't understand the law, or he's shady.

They're afraid of the gun being traced back to them if used in a crime.

    And then what.
You get a knock at your door...
    May I help you officer?
A gun used in a crime has been traced to you...
Sorry officer, I sold that gun a while back.
You didn't rob a liquor store last week?
    No Sir...
    Well ok then.

I had a private gun seller who tried to get me to show my driver's license once. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti

I've had people ask about a BOS or the FFL transfer but after I talk some sense into them we conduct business with a handshake and a smile. Usually they're just ignorant of the laws regarding private gun sales.

Ehh, depending on the situation, it can be a little more annoying than that.

I still don't ask for a BOS though, but I think a seller did ask me to sign a piece of paper once within the last year or two during a trade. I couldn't have cared less at the time and signed it lol.

I have signed a few too. Not a deal breaker for me.

No copied DL or anything like that though. Just a name and signature.

I will sign those all day long. I won't let them copy my DL info though. All a BOS needs to hold up in court is the item, price, date, and signature. And that's all I will give them.

If they have both signs, and you buy a pistol ........................ aren't you breaking the law trying to get it out of the store?? :green:

Toting it around in a box doesn't fall under carrying.

Also, if I signed a 4473 for a gun, I'll have the buyer sign a bill of sale for sure. For the same reason I have the buyer of a car I'm selling sign one too. I know I don't have to, but I also won't be held responsible for anything you're doing with your freshly acquired private property. Otherwise, cash in the parking lot is fine.

I have signed a plenty of those but I don't give them my driver's license or CHL number or my address. They already have my name, my cell phone number, and probably my email. That's plenty if they really want to get ahold of me or find out who I am.
