    Nothing made the cut.

Actually that's not 100% accurate. They are keeping the 5 most proffitable gun counters open, but doing a complete clearance of everything else in those stores. The GM in Amarillo is staying open. Have no idea where the other 4 are.

Went to GM in Spring on Sunday. Bought a couple of shirts I like. Guns, ammo, reloading supplies? I can find all of them cheaper at Academy or WalMart. Despite the "Everything Must Go" signs, they don't seem particularly anxious to encourage anyone to buy the stuff. Also, the staff has pretty much quit working. And "Up to 30% Off" means about 1% of the stuff is marked down by 30%, and the rest is generally 10%.

I'm going to stop by Round Rock tomorrow; but I don't expect to find much. That pair of Kuhl jeans that's been on "clearance" for over two years is probably still 10% off!!! :)

My last experience at Gander Mtn.:

Went to get a new S&W M&P Pro CORE to put a red dot on.. Watched the guy behind the counter destroy the one I was considering getting. I had broken the gun down to take a look at it thoroughly, I put it back together and they guy behind the counter went, "oh, that's how that comes apart - let me see" He takes the slide off, goes to put it back on and somehow put it on without aligning it so the slide is on the gun diagonally. I say, "uhh, that doesn't look right.." he goes "oh, oops" - and then can't get the slide back off. He eventually brute forces the slide off leaving metal shavings on the class counter. Inspecting the gun, he managed to shave off a bit of the metal rail that the slide attaches to. At this point he and the supervisor are both looking at me trying to put on a good face of "nothin's wrong" and ask me if I want to buy it.. Of course not, why would I want a gun you just severely damaged right in plain sight of all of us?

I'm having a hard time not laughing or yelling at them. But I brought a pistol to see what they might be able to do for a trade and they proceed to offer me 100 dollars off the price of a gun in exchange for an FNX-9 that I brought in. I laugh in their faces and walk out without saying another word. I went to GrabAGun and bought the same M&P I was looking at in perfect condition for 150 dollars cheaper than what Gander wanted and I kept my FNX and still enjoy shooting it. :)

Holsters are now 40% off... I picked up a few cheap generic holsters for when I'm just out casually shooting a gun I don't have a dedicated holster for. Also bought their remaining bags of deer corn. Bought their last can of Pyrodex at 40% off as well.

Guns and ammo are still only 15% off. The ammo is pretty picked over and whats left is still way too expensive even with the 15% off.

They must not be in a real hurry to liquidate.

I went by the on in Round Rock (or is it North Austin) on Thursday, I didn't see anything that made me go "oh golly that IS a good deal!" It was busier than I had ever seen any Gander Mountain.

I have no idea how the one in Amarillo is staying open. There is an academy on Soncy less than 4 miles away.

My GOOB GM is now up to 60% off. Got a pair of 5.11s that were marked at 49.99 but rang up at 79.99, and got them for $33. Never had any 5.11s so I'll see how I like them, figured for that I'd give them a shot.

The one in Round Rock has a few things at 60% off, but most things are still only 30%. Their clothing prices are so retarded that I probably won't buy anything unless it drops to 75% off.

I did buy a fire extinguisher for $11 yesterday

I always wondered how they stayed in business for so long with their insane prices. Ive bought clothing from them when I was in Texarkana and in a pinch, and some tanerite targets but Id have to win the lottery to buy firearms from them.

Does any one know when the one in Round Rock is going to close their doors. I would like to show up at the end when they have things marked down real low to like normal retail prices.

The Amarillo store alone had 346 Shields in 9mm last weekend. And they were already in inventory when they filed for Chapter 11.

Lol, now I see. 350 Shields. Each marked at full retail or above? Yea, that might be hard to move.

Stopped by the Sherman store. Most people were walking out the door empty handed and their sale price was mostly 20% off msrp. They had 6 tables with items such as orange gloves marked at 40% off msrp. Ammo was 10% off msrp. Guns were 15% off msrp with a sign stating that would be their lowest discount. The boats were gone but I doubt they were sold and the only area that had been hit hard by sales was fishing. An employee said everything is being controlled by the liquidator and admits the guns aren't selling. Gander had a price matching policy but he said that stopped when the liquidator took over.

Liquidator obviously doesn't understand the gun market right now.

Wife and I went into the Sherman store a few weeks back. There were more people in the store than I had seen in a few visits I've made over the years but no one was buying anything. This stuff is still too high with the discounts. I did attempt to purchase some bisquetts for my smoker but they were marked 20% off (which made them the same as I could buy them elsewhere) but when I checked out they only gave me 10% off. I told the checker they were marked 20% off and she argued with me rather than send someone back to confirm. Then just jerked them back off the counter and told me to have a nice day. What a bunch of lazy rude pricks. No surprise why no one hardly shopped there.
