I bet some of you make changing a lightbulb complicated.

Let her buy her boyfriend a gift...or let her give him money and tell him to pick exactly what he wants with it. Both are simple and perfectly fine.

Personally, I might decline a cash offer if money were tight despight the efforts made to set it aside, but would happily accept if the rifle itself were offered. That's just me though, everyone is different.

Not that there is anything wrong with gifting a rifle, I was just meaning as a suggestion/surprise.

I realize it's the thought that counts, but would you really want your wife to pick out a gun, and buy it, for the you?

She's got enough practice figuring out what I want. I can guarantee she wouldn't find a gun I'd be upset about getting.

Since she knows that just about anything-
    AR
    Single action
    .22LR
    Or 1911 I would love,

I have absolutely no problem with that.

I have enough crap around the house I already don't use.
I can't seem to get a handle on getting rid of stuff either, not quite a hoarder, but pretty damn close, lol.

For a guy that doesn't have an AR, I think it's a great gift. And building it would be even better. I've still got my first AR that I bought in 1994. I'll never sell it.

Amy Lynn: Maybe you should just buy your boyfriend a toaster.....it would cause less controversy.

    j/k. Ruger or S&W entry-level AR.

Well, she is wanting suggestions, she is getting plenty.
Maybe go to a gun store, and when your boyfriend says "man, I really like this", go
    Happy Birthday!

Doesn't matter as long as it is a tactical high capacity toaster.
2 slice toasters are for weenies.
