Spent a few rounds over a couple days doing bc verification on the 105rdf. Seems the .280g7 is pretty solid out to 1k with sub 1/2moa groups at that.

Mine are running 2825 fps in my 6.5 CM. No idea why I am blowing primers after 3 loadings.

That's what I get for developing a load in the fall I guess.

So I've managed to work up a load for my .308 that gets me right under 1 moa at 100 yds using a Hornady 003-3031 (150 gr sp w/c). As part of the Hornady lock and load program, I got a box of 003-3033 (150 gr sp bt w/c). Should I do the full work up on these (starting to max) or shouldn't I be able to start maybe .6 gr under my pet load going to about .6 over? I hope the question makes sense. I'm just not sure how much the boat tail will change in the equation.

You would most likely be fine just jumping over with the same load but most recommend dropping down .5-.3 just to check for pressure. Keep in mind there could also be some external difference besides just the profile which could affect seating depth which will affect pressure.

    Gunz are icky.
Bought one of those Frankford Arsenal deprimer tools.
It works pretty good once you get it adjusted.
Just deprimed 150+ rounds of .45-70 and .45LC in <10 minutes.

Since you guys mentioned pressure, I think I'm pretty good since I'm right about in the middle range of the load data and have not seen any significant signs of pressure on my primers. I recently got a chronograph that I'll start using in my testing but is there any way to use chrono data to estimate pressure or am I really stick just trying to read pressure signs from brass and primers like an old gypsy lady reading tea leaves?

Yes and no. Speed and pressure are directly related but there's no true way to measure one off the other. Only way to truely measure pressure is a strain gauge or modified chamber.

That being said playing with some wildcats I've noticed if velocity levels out and doesn't increase with powder charge increase you are typically well over pressure. This takes a very trustworthy chrono though and is not proven by any means
