Well I was going to install an oil seal...

UPS tracking said it arrived at the local distribution hub. The hub is two towns over and not far. Destination scan as the call it.

Now there's an entirely different departure scan after that. With a new arrival scan out of Dallas. The last arrival/depart scan was in Mesquite. It was suppose to arrive today but now it's suppose to be Friday. Even though it was already scanned local.

Gotta wonder if they either lost or damaged the part and had get another one going?

Now I gotta make sure the driver delivers to the right address. One of these days I might get this seal in and have UPS as a gritty afterthought...

So for over a year I had an issue where my read hatch wouldn't open. I piad someone to rewire the whole hatch back wire harness and they said it wasn't working even after replacement. I as busy with school and work and life so I just dealt with it until a few weeks ago. I pulled the hatch apart and kept sitting there trying to figure out wtf was wrong when i realized they didn't actually clip the electrical sockets together. Like, putting your headphone jack barely into your phone and saying, "Well I have no idea why this isn't working."

Anyways, I saved myself a bunch of time and money.

    What is a "read" hatch?

Ha. "Rear" was the correct word. I suppose it should simply be the hatch since there isn't a front hatch. Either way, it was the hatch on my hatchback.

Right at the master link....Might have been pinched too tight and damaged the other link when they made it.

Of all the drives. Belt is my favorite. The only drive that hasn't given me grief.

I'd say be safe but if we wanted to be safe. We wouldn't ride motorcycles.

Son's car needed the AC compressor replaced. Stupid little cars. Two bolts in the bottom that are imposdible to get to from the top.

I also want to give out a big "screw you" to Youtube "mechanics". Watched many videos making sure I could test everything possible before getting a professional opinion.

They said to drain the coolant so a hose could be removed to get the fan assembly out to remove the compressor. How about I pull the alternator since that makes it easier to get to the compressor and it will come right out the hole.

Guess they need to keep it complicated so we pay their labor.

Living on the edge is just using the floor jack. No blocks. I'm surprised I'm alive.

I'd hand you wrenches. Pass a beer. Sturdy enough looking block. Emergency break on.

I had to lift the rear of a front wheel drive car on a driveway with a steep decline.

I stuck all types of boards under the front wheels. Used a Jack stand on the one wheel I'm working on.

It's always in the back of your head, "The bit¢h is gonna tip over the Jack stand and roll down hill"...

Never had much faith in Jack stands either.

I've pushed a car off jack stands before. Was a kid, just finished up swapping a new motor into the car (Ford Escort) and was bolting up the transaxle. Gave it a good push, and pretty much just rolled those dinky little jack stands over. I was pinned under the car but uninjured. Thankfully my best friend and my girlfriend were both in the garage with me, and were thoughtful enough to slide a jack under the car :)
