That is super cool - to me anyway. Some of those old LC Smith shotguns are VERY expensive. I used to hunt with a guy that had a fancy (crown grade?) .410 SxS one that was appraised in the $20-25k range.Got my letter of authentification a few days ago.

I get that but guns were made to be shot and used.Well, I have plenty of other shotguns if I want to go hunting.
As far as I'm concerned, it's not worth risking an "oops", which could significantly decrease it's value.
