    P-47 vs P-51 is debatable.
P-51 was a fantastic aircraft but it couldn't do the low level attack work. Its engine was too easily damaged.
Modified P-47's were used to chase V-1 Buzz Bombs.
The later P-47's were really fast.

The last model of the P-47 was faster than the P-51 although a bit less menuverable.

Watching documentaries and interviews from WW2 pilots I've noticed that those who flew 51s swear it's the best plane ever built, and those who flew 47s swear the same. I doubt either would be happy if forced to go up in the others aircraft.

Personally, I like the Jug more.

P47 is Thuderbolt 1, A10 is thunderbolt 2. An awesome lineage.

So, not knowing a lot about planes or tanks, that thing jumps back into the air after the tank drops. What does that tank weigh, like 50 tons?

I would imagine the pilot feels light after that.
