I second Athena on the west side if you can make it Tue or Thur as mentioned. But their full price isn't bad consider how nice and clean the facility is.

American Shooting Center is decent especially for rifles. They are generally hard on their rules and but at the end of the day, everybody wants to go home safe. I have seen some stupid things some of the shooters over did so I kind of understand why the ASC staffs do what they do.

    Warning: Off Topic Post

I was at ASc when somebody shot themselves in the hand, can't fix all kind of stupid
And I've been at ASC when someone lit off a snubby .500 S&W and a snubby .460S&W, one in each hand, simultaneously. All the car alarms went off and the RSOs went into terminal confusion mode.

Sometimes it's fun when people who know what they're doing play at the edge of the rules.

Yeah, I know, I'm an NRA-certified RSO and I'm not supposed to talk like that. But we all know it's true.

I believe I've made all the updates to the Google map. If someone finds a mistake or omission just let me know and I'll fix it at my next opportunity.
Can I assume the "can't edit after a certain amount of time" bug bit you when you tried to add "Liberty Armory" to the #1 post list?

That's not technically true...some of the wards could pass for shooting ranges!!!!

Actually Liberty Armory, http://thelibertyarmory.com/ on Bellaire is inside the Loop and has a range.

I've shot at liberty - it is a small private club/range. If you buy a firearm from them - lifetime membership. If not, there are various fees (can't recall off hand). They have a good setup for pistol work and nicer lanes/target holders. It is meant for more experienced shooters and (for better or for worse) there isn't much RSO oversight (I like it when it's empty, but I don't tend to trust others that much...). Would be expensive to shoot often w/o membership options. Nice guys who work/hang out there. Not a good range for rifle/shotgun work.

There really are few options out 59 north. Anybody know what places close to Humble allow full auto? I know Sportsman's Outlet used to.

Its definitely not club that's oriented towards any of the action pistol sports, but people dont joinn it for that. However, if you like any of the traditional NRA shooting disciplines you will probably like it a lot.

I've been a member for 10 years and its served my needs enough that I now volunteer as an RSO at the Juliff range.

The only rule that I don't really care for is not being able to draw and fire your weapon in the pistol cells at Juliff. I'm also a member at PSC, where you can draw and fire from a holstered weapon in the pistol bays and it's not much of an issue, but PSC has RSO's there pretty much all of the time.

Please read the range rules several times and ask any questions that you might have during the orientation. Welcome to the club.
