Will anything legislatively come from this shooting?

I believe bump-fires will be outlawed

I don’t think high 60+ round mags will be outlawed

Are full- auto (incl bump-fire) good for the public consumption?

I don't think they'd ban slide fire stocks. The fact remains that it's a single trigger pull per round so it's stated by definition a semi-auto
But I guess I'll have to go buy one now to be safe

Nothing will change nationally. A bill or two will be introduced but they will die.

States that already infringe on rights may gain some headway though but that is nothing new.

    Especially with trump in charge

The Safe hearing act has been shelved indefinitely. The rest is anyone's guess. IMO, this mass shooting may just be the straw that broke the camel's back and some kind of ban, registration, background check legislation might get pushed through. I don't think any of that would have made a difference in this case though.

Hate to tell you this but Trump is already talking about "gun legislation".

Yeah I'd heard a little about that. I wouldnt be surprised if he did something to appease anti-gun crowd

They were one of the first to sell out. I believe it also said that they will not be restocking, which says to me they may have simply pulled their stock and discontinued sales so as not to be a big ol target for the media.

Academy pulled all their semi auto rifles after Orlando for a month or two

I have a bad feeling about what this is going to bring about. Be it government or public panic reaction. I usually don't worry about it too much other than it drives prices/availability up and down. But this is the biggest massacre by a shooter in US history. This will not bring good times.

Stock up folks, here we go again.

Agreed. I expect the slide/bump fire stocks to be banned. Feinstein was quick to pull that legislation proposal out of a drawer...

And if that's all that gets banned, I'll dance a merry jig in the moonlight. Not that I /want/ anything get banned, and yes, I am aware of the concept of salami tactics, but I'd gladly throw bump fire stocks, lightning links, trigger cranks etc. to the wolves if that's what it takes to calm the baying mob. Nobody loses anything essential, and the antis get to pat themselves on the back. And yes, I know... but there it is.

Nothing's going to happen. We've been down this road too many times, and if it didn't happen during the Obama administration, it's not going to happen now...

90% agree with this. The spineless GOP is a HUGE wildcard here though. If they thought they could hurt Trump without hurting themselves they would sell out faster that warp 10.

Hopefully, Trump can hold the line at best or negotiate a decent deal. Say bump fire stocks for tax breaks and immigration reform.
