    My Fellow Americans,

You just spent $20,000,000 to move members and supporters of Hamas, a terrorist organization, to the United States; housing, food, the whole enchilada. HB 1388 PASSED

It wasn't mentioned on the news... just went by on the ticker tape at the bottom of the CNN screen. Obama funds $20M in tax payer dollars to immigrate Hamas Refugees to the USA. This is the news that didn't make the headlines.

By executive order, President Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in "migration assistance" to the Palestinian refugees and "conflict victims" in Gaza. The "presidential determination", which allows hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United
States, was signed and appears in the Federal Register.

Few on Capitol Hill, or in the media, took note that the order provides a free ticket replete with housing and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January 2006. Now we learn that he is allowing thousands of Palestinian refuges to move to, and live in, the US at American taxpayer expense.

These important, and insightful, issues are being "lost" in the blinding bail-outs and "stimulation" packages.

This has been circulating since 2009 and is not true.

    From "Urban Legends"
This message promotes the false impression that Congressional bill H.R. 1388 (sometimes referred to as ("H.B. 1388"), which passed the House and Senate in March 2009 and was signed into law by President Obama on April 21, 2009, allocated $20 million in taxpayer funds to resettle Hamas refugees in the United States. It did not.

Entitled "The Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act," H.R. 1388 reauthorized and revised existing federal public service programs, including AmeriCorps, essentially increasing their funding and scope (and, contrary to another set of false rumors, it did not make public service mandatory). Far from being passed "behind our backs," the bill was much publicized during House and Senate debates and enacted with bipartisan support.

That said, it is true that President Obama signed a memorandum to the State Department (not an executive order, but comparable to one) in January 2009 authorizing $20.3 million in humanitarian aid to Palestinian refugees in Gaza. However, as anyone who received the above email could have easily ascertained for themselves, the memo did not order, request, or even suggest that said refugees be resettled in the United States.

The "itemized list" of other actions taken in the early days of the Obama administration is roughly accurate, albeit cherry-picked, decontextualized, and spun in a manner consistent with the overall political bias of the message.

Good Grief. Folks should really research this stuff before passing it on as real.

Lighten up my man! First of all, I got this from what I considered a good source, who may have been duped. It is better to be alert and wrong, rather than "asleep at the wheel" and it be right.

This has been circulating since 2009 and is not true.

Hey Mr. Pompous: while I am researching further to confirm or deny its authenticity, please enlighten all of us "underlings" as to why it is untrue. Do you have proof it is untrue other than you merely saying it is? If so, please provide because I really do hope you can.

While snopes.com is not the definitive fact checker, here's what they say:

    snopes.com: Palestinian Resettlement

This order simply authorized a contribution of up to $20.3 million from the U.S. Emergency Refugee and Migration Assistance (ERMA) Fund to meet urgent "humanitarian needs of Palestinian refugees and conflict victims in Gaza." It did not, as claimed above, approve or authorize any Palestinians or Gazans, much less "hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas" to migrate to, or resettle in, the United States.

According to the U.S. Department of State, the funds are to be distributed as follows:
Of the $20.3 million in new ERMA funds, $13.5 million will go to the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), $6 million to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and $800,000 to the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). These organizations are distributing emergency food assistance, providing medical assistance and temporary shelter, creating temporary employment, and restoring access to electricity and potable water to the people of Gaza.
By the way, APATRIOT, do you go out of your way to be disrespectful or does that come naturally?

He knows the truth, but is too immature and full of ego to admit it. The sky is not falling, ans this bill IN NO WAY AUTHORIZES THE ENTRY OF THOSE PEOPLE INTO THE US.

    Alas, facts don't matter.

    From one of the sites YOU posted as proof;

Aug 17, 2009 8:57 AM - Did this bill provide money to bring in Palestinian refugees to the U.S., and if so, what does it have to do with volunteerism? - Read Answers
Answered by a visitor on Sep 1, 2009 7:22 PM - Q: Did Obama pay for Hamas-affiliated terrorists to emigrate to the United States?
A: This claim is false. The president?s memorandum to the State Department would pay for refugee assistance in Gaza, not for transporting anyone to the U.S.
