Obviously this is not the best way to do it but notice I said eradicating, not hunting. here are the conditions
A ground blind 10 yards from the feeder. You have an AR-15 with the slide stock. They're all grouped up feeding.
    1. Has anyone tried this?
    2. Would it be effective at getting as many as possible? Assuming you have good muzzle control
    3. Would you be better off without the stock rapid firing?

I don't hunt but I've shot a few thousand rounds with a SlideFire-equipped rifle. It would never occur to me to attempt to use it to try to accurately hit multiple moving targets.

I suppose someone has tried it and I'll be interested in hearing what they have to say.

    Slide-fire semi-auto shotgun maybe?
I can't see a slidefire being accurate in any situation...more of a range toy IMHO

I think you would be better served with rapid fire or an echo trigger.

Or a semi auto shotgun and some good heavy buck. Probably the best option at the distances your considering really.

I'd skip the slide fire, switch to a heavier caliber, and go with well placed semi-auto rounds.

More rounds down range doesn't mean more rounds on target. But if you insist on trying it, invest in some tracer ammo and load one every 5 rounds so you can adjust fire visually.

Sounds like a good way to start a grass/brush fire.

I agree that you would be better served without it, but I don't discount the scenario. Several times I have been that close and much closer. Then again I'm usually chasing them down on a 4 wheeler.

Work is irradiating an invasive species.

Hunting is going out to procure food.

One, I couldn't really care less if the kill is quick. The other I do.

Of course, but not eating them is not the same as letting them die a slow death.

    Hogs are destructive as hell.

I wouldn't take a shot at a running deer but it happens often with hogs. It happens because the reason is to get rid of as many as possible. If that means a slow death for some, I'm ok with it.

That said, if I'm out to shoot 1 hog then I'll do my best to drop it right there.

Texas is at war with hogs. War can be ugly.

It's a numbers game. I have days where I want meat and days where I want them all dead. More hogs hit, greater chance of killing more. Killing 1 pig accurately doesn't hurt the population
