Not bringing as many weapons as originally was thinking. I am gonna stick to my 6.5 creed 300 win mag 22 lr 1 of my 5.56 ar and a couple hand guns. Too much work to pack all the rest up lol

AAR, Good times were had by all.. I didn't make it out to the long long range with hillbilly and ussoldier, but I know that at the bay and the zero area I had a lot of fun and got to meet a lot of really nice folks. Green Eye Tactical is a mountain of information and experience as well as a ton of equipment that he let us use. Here are all the pictures I got none are of me because I took them. If I got your name wrong I apologize! Let me know And I'll change it~

Also I failed to mention that Triple C is an AMAZING range with so many areas to shoot from tactical bays to ranges that have steel every 100 yards out to 2km... Really a nice place and the membership is worth it if you shoot regularly.

What a fun day! It was good to meet up with some of the members here finally. And Thanks to everyone that set this meet up,and the great range that we were allowed to use.

It sucked that USSoldier's 300 WM wasn't working as planned,I know he was pretty bummed after wasting a bunch of ammo trying to get it sighted in. His RPR 6.5 Creedmoor was shooting good,as were both of my custom 6.5 CM's.
The wind was playing games with us,I didn't have much trouble ringing steel out to 1500 yards,but gave up on the mile +(1793 yards) gong after a few shots.We couldn't see where the bullets were hitting because all the grass around the target,plus the wind was changing directions too much down range.

Triple C is one hell of a shooting range,If you ever get a chance to go shoot there,you'll enjoy it!
My phone pics aren't very good,but it's all I got since I forgot to bring a camera.

The Bravo range - 700 to 2000 yards!

Notice the little white dots,they're the steel gongs! Near the top on the right is the 1793 yard gong - that's a long freakin ways away!

Soldier's 300 WM and his RPR along with my Savage action custom,and my new Shilen action custom setting in my tripod rest. I'm old and wore out,I can't shoot prone anymore,it kills me!

Looks like a nice range. Wish could've made it. I would've hit the long range course with my .308 Savage and 6.5 CM Aero.

I plan on setting up another one in the spring AFTER the state meet.. We've been blessed by good weather. I imagine a May spring meet will be much MUCH warmer.

I went to strip the weapon down take off the scope base and was going to clean all oil off, dry and re loc tight blue but one of the screws that holds the scope base is rounded (its torques head size 10) so I can't get it out. I now have to either find a machine shop to extract it or a gunsmith. I don't know how it stripped out because I always use my torque screwdriver and torque to proper specs. So as of now the 300 win mag is out of commision until I can get that screw out, which stinks because I was planing on after 2 days of letting the loc tight dry going to elm fork and seeing if it stays torqued. Also I did try extractors myself but its such a small screw nothing would get a bite on it to back it out.

Had a lot of fun, and learned tons of useful things from Eric@GreenEyeTactical! Thanks a lot for letting me pick your brain, much appreciated!
Priest, glad you liked the PTR (It's a PTR-32 tho.. The PTR-91 is a .308)

Seeing all the long range steel makes me want to bring my Wife's Daniel Defense with Leupold scope next time...
Don't much like paper targets out past 200... walking back and forth becomes real work real fast. Steel tho... :-)

Hit it with PB Blaster penetrating oil then back out the strip screw witih a screw remover like what they sell at HD. They sell one that small enough for a Torx 10. You could also cut a slot for a regular screw driver and back it out that way. But you may damage the mount if the screw is recesses in the mount.

Unfortunitly because of the design of the scope base the screws are subdued and a screw extractor does not fit down to reach the screw. I ended up having to drill out a bigger hole to access the screw and extract it. I hated the type of scope base that was on there so I picked up a nice 20moa base. cleaned it to remove all the oil from the screw holes on the reciever dried and installed the new scope base with a spot of loctight blue and torqued to specs. Going to let it set for at least 48 hours then take it to the range to see if it comes loose again. Cross your fingers I wont have the issue anymore and I will actually be able to get a zero.
