Thanks for adding me to the Forum

I am a Canadian shooter and will soon be moving to Midland Texas for work. I shoot 3 Gun, IPSC/USPSA, and IDPA, as well as anything else I can cram in. I am looking forward to actually being able to use my guns to there full capacity and unpin my mags, and really try to improve my shooting. Any helpful hints on where to live/not live in the Midland Odessa area as well as places to shoot.

    Thanks

No blame. Trudeau is a globalist POS.

Welcome to behind the line. The best food is brown and smoked. Don't count on snow.

You are damn right about Trudope. I have been to Texas a couple of times in the past (Houston area) and my wife and I loved it. We are looking forward to no snow, I work currently in the arctic about 1000 miles from the North Pole and will gladly give up the -50C temps.

Love BBQ. As for why Midland I am a generator technician and that is where the company needs people right now. Possibility of a transfer to other locations in the future.

Welcome to the forum and soon welcome to the States. Glad to have you on both accounts.

Wait...are you a Canucks fan? If so, I may have an axe to grind with you. ;)

My advice is find a place outside of town, but that may be just me. If you like the desert and the topography of oil wells you'll fit right in. Of course Midland/ Odessa is a lot more conservative than the big cities of Texas. I'm not into competing but I will certainly go shooting with you.

Well after spending 8 months in the desert in Afghanistan back when I was in the Canadian army, I don't mind the desert at all. Better than -50 C like I have to deal with now where I am working in the Arctic.

Well, I can definitely tell you, I didn't come to Texas for the snow.
