I use a floor Jack under the swing arm. I have a thick rubber disk I cut from a rubber feed bowl from TSC. I set it on top of the jack cup so my stuff doesn't get scratched and gouged.

As I'm raising it up, it's a balance until I get a stack of 2x6s under the frame. It works pretty good. Doing it once or twice...

Tonight I'm gonna partake in the drink. I need a car cover and I.....loathe spending money. Coors Light with lubricate the process.

If I'm gonna rewax black paint. It has to have a dust cover. I keep it in the garage but that doesn't matter. Moths take micro$hits. I didn't know that until I bought a black car. Little tiny bug splatter turds all over the my ride. Mother nature is not letting me catch a break.

To wax it and wax it right. The stuff ran about $65. From the clay to the synthetic wax. Car cover will run me around $40...

Got the Sprinter inspected. Seeing that my registration expired a year ago, I felt it was time

Finally after months of off and on troubleshooting I've stopped the coolant leak on the Land Rover. Had it apart and back together three times.
    1. Replaced the pump
    2. the tube from the pump to the oil cooler and both o-rings
    3. one extremely overpriced oddly shaped rubber hose
    4. the thermostat outlet housing pipe or whatever the **** it's called
    5. hose from throttle body (made my own this time, screw LR)
    6. the gaskets for the pump (took it off again)
    7. the tube from the pump to the oil cooler and both o-rings again
    8. took the oil cooler off and straitened the pipe going into it as it had bent from the multiple removal and replacement of the pump
    9. replaced oil cooler gasket
    10. Was tired of dealing with it so I covered everything in RTV and Permatex Form-a-seal as I reassembled.

I suspect the original leak was from the plastic outlet pipe from the block, because when I took it out I saw that it had cracked right below one of it's o-ring lands (see below). I really hate this trend in new vehicles to have plastic coolant pipes. They are super cheap for them to produce, but they still charge an arm and a dick for them. I'm convinced they are engineered to fail about the same time as the warranty runs out. They seem particularly daft on on a vehicle that is designed to knock around offroad.

The engine in the Land Rover is actually a Ford Coyote. Do the new Ford 5.0s have the same stupid plastic coolant piping?

I was watching a video last night for the installation of a supercharger kit on a Tundra and I noticed the Tundra's cross over pipes and hard coolant lines are all aluminum... I used to have a Tundra, but never would have known that because I never had any reason to even look under the engine cover. Makes me want another one.

Tightened a hose clamp on a neighbors older Tahoe. It was dumping water. Backstory was that it was her son-in-law that worked on it. (You could tell he replaced the water pump and some hoses, 5.3 ls1).

Asking where he was at. Williamson County sheriff's shot him. Shoulder shot, separated the spine and he bled out. The daughter got a big settlement and doesn't talk to mom.

I tightened the clamp and let it warm up. 180k on odometer. It's an 300k ride if the up keep is done. So somebody died, daughter ran off, and I'm tightening a clamp.

She offered money. I don't take money. Pass it forward....

Yep! I keep my shiny black car under a cover in the garage, too. It's amazing how dirty it can get from just sitting for a few days. Be sure to always wash it before you put the cover on.

I swore off black cars after owning two in sunny/no rain Southern CA...and even there I couldn't keep them clean.

No way in hell am I owning another one, especially here...I'd spend every waking hour keeping it clean.

The Goonies Movie. That's a Red 1983 Ford convertible mustang GT. Noted year because a genuine Holley carburetor showed up on a factory 302.

Remember carbs? That year was especially nice.

    Go Chevy.

Membership to one of those quick wash places helps. Definitely wouldn't do black as a daily driver...

Work SUV is black and I have a wash plan for it. It is a *itch to keep clean but get lots of compliments when it is

I still haven't gotten use to the header ring on the camaro. The colder it is the louder the pings. It sounds like half the valves are clicking.

Ding, ding, click, ding, click de click.
