These would be great for me hunting with my Redhawk 44 Mag.
I will NEVER fire that thing without hearing protection and I usually just hunt with muffs around my neck, so I can put them on quickly if a shot presents itself.
Are the batteries easy to change out? Can it be done in the field without any tools?
Only tools I needed was a pair of reading glasses.

It comes with a little brush that has a magnet on the end to hold the batteries. Takes about 30 seconds per ear to change batteries. After you find your reading glasses that is.

What is the limit/season for them?

There are three zones with slightly different seasons, but basically Nov through end of Jan.

    3 / day

They are really good to eat. I like to cook mine medium rare, sautéed in grape seed oil. A little salt and pepper on each side. The grape seed oil has a lighter flavor than olive oil.

Received mine yesterday, 3 different sizes for all the rubber parts. At first I thought mine didn't come with the brush, but it must have fallen out of the box when I opened it. Right when I told myself "well that sucks" I located it. Since the battery life seems to start as soon as you install them I figured I will wait until I needed them. Lanyard was a bit tricky with my big fingers, but was finally able to install it. They seem quite comfortable and very nice carrying case.

Wore my Walker Razor XV for about 6-7 hours over the last couple days running a skid steer and backhoe. I had the external sounds muted since there was no one to talk to and listened to music from my phone.

Killed the sounds of the equipment just fine. Judged throttle by feel instead of sound. Couldn't hear the backup alarm unless a song stopped and then it was very faint.

    No discomfort after extended use.

Music sounds good through them. Took one call from work. No issues answering calls through the BT model if it's something that matters for you. I usually need to be available.

One of these days I'll actually get a good range test done but I'd be happy with them just for mowing and tractor work. I've shot a few rounds of 9mm with them and they worked well but haven't tested them with any of the louder items that appear at the range.

Didn't realize they had a BT model. That peaks my interest.

I saw that MidwayUSA has them on sale right now for 149.99. I thought about getting some but still out of my price range.

I got that e-mail. Added them to the cart, then deleted them again, because those stupid tiny expensive hearing aid batteries it takes.

The Razors have an internal rechargeable battery. Claims 10 hours of use but reviewers claim 4-5 hours.

Reviews mention the BT connection being weak and cutting out with phone in back pocket. I had my phone clipped to my front pocket as usual and it didn't cut out. Haven't tested the signal strength though. Don't think it will be an issue with the way I carry mine.

I can buy 80 #10 Duracell's for about $22 on Amazon, not sure I would call that expensive.

My information on the price and availability of hearing aid batteries is from the 1980s, when I had to find them for my grandmother's brother who lost his hearing as an artillery man in Russia.

That's really cool. Would be really useful when I'm on the tractor, bike, or loud cars. Typically I just wear ear plugs, but that means I lose media capabilities.

I wonder how they compare in the noise reduction dept to a well fitting set of ear buds. I have worn regular ear buds while I'm in a noisy car so I can still hear the nav without blowing my ears out. They do reduce the ambient noise, but not to the extent that ear plugs do.

Way better than ear buds. They use the same type of phone as the cheap foam ear plugs (best noise reduction IMO).

I used them in the house the other day while my son was watching one of the new horribly annoying kids shows and arguing about random crap with my daughter. Muted external sound and watched a podcast on YouTube.
