My suggestions for self-defense ammo for the P232 are the Cor-bon 90 grain +p, the Cor-bon DPX 80 grain+p, the "law enforcement only" Winchester Ranger Talon 95 grain+p, and the Remington Golden Saber 102 grain+p. Avoid Federal Hydra-shok at all costs...it does not expand consistently. If they offered it in .380, I'd suggest Federal HST, but since they don't, I won't. The most important thing is to find one of those four that will consistently feed correctly in your handgun. Any of those rounds is good, but none will be good if the gun jams when you need it.
If you need a place to order any of this stuff online, try ammunitiontogo.com. They're in TX, and if you order before close of business on a weekday, it'll be to you the next business day (which could be the very next day). I know from experience.

What do ya'll suggest I use in my Sig P232 for my defense ammo?

First off, excellent choice on the gun! I've shot P232's many times and they are excellent guns. :)

I would highly suggest either Corbon DPX or Corbon Pow'RBall. There are plenty of good defensive rounds out there from many other manufacturers, though judging by many of the ballistic tests I've seen, these two rounds seem to have some above average performance and consistency. If the gun ever has problems feeding any conventional open nose type hollowpoint, you should try the Pow'RBall as it has a round nose profile and feeds quite a bit more reliably (I've never had a problem with them in any gun so far). Here's links to the two:

    Pow'RBall

    DPX

One other thing. While there have been some great advances in bullet technology over the past 15-20 years or so, I wouldn't get too caught up in looking for that "magical" bullet. The most important aspect in a self defense gun, in my opinion, is shot placement. There are plenty of other good hollowpoints out there like Speer Gold Dots, Federal Hydrashok, Remington Golden Saber, etc etc. Some are better than others, but the main thing is to work on training for proper shot placement in the center of mass. Corbon is usually a little harder to find at most gun stores, so any of the other brands mentioned above will work great too. About the only ones I can think of that I wouldn't recommend is Magtech JHP's and anything from RBCD. Occasionally you will find a few stores that sell ammo from a company called RBCD. Their ammo is a gimmic, is poor quality, and really doesn't have the performance capability of most standard off the shelf JHP's.

Haha, almost forgot them Infamous. Yes, please do also avoid ever buying any ammo from Extreme Shock. A 5 year old could have developed a more technologically superior ammunition. It amazes me what companies will put out sometimes. It's almost as if they do absolutely no R&D whatsoever and simply build something that looks "cool", then try to justify it's existence. ;)

On the Federal Hydro Shok, The personal defense version is the one that has had the expansion problems. It comes in a 20 round box. If you have access to the Hydro-Shok Duty ammo{in a 50 round box} you will find it has none of the problems the PD label does.

That being said, I do not believe they make the hotter HS in .380.
