    Huh. I could swear the version I read a few days ago had it lumped in with all the other scary, scary guns. But even if it's listed as exempted, their description of an "assault weapon" will cover it just like it will a semiauto pistol.

    Guys, even if DOA, your reps still need to hear from you. We have to drown out the crazies.

    Also target noncompliant RINOs in the primaries. Nothing sends shockwaves through the ranks like an incumbent losing the primary. It's too late at general election because we'll end up with a leftists...

    Exempted: Ruger Mini 30, Ruger Mini-14.

    Which shows you right there how effing stupid that bill is.

    Shit, I knew I bought a Mini recently for a reason :shades:.

    Is the version of the AWB that allows for grandfathering?? I thought I got that from the text but I really hate the way these laws are written. Someone please tell me if that is what I am reading:

    SEC. 3. Restrictions on assault weapons and large capacity ammunition feeding devices.

    (a) In general.—Section 922 of title 18, United States Code, is amended—

    (1) by inserting after subsection (u) the following:

    “(v) (1) It shall be unlawful for a person to import, sell, manufacture, transfer, or possess, in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, a semiautomatic assault weapon.

    “(2) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to the possession, sale, or transfer of any semiautomatic assault weapon otherwise lawfully possessed under Federal law on the date of enactment of the Assault Weapons Ban of 2018.

    “(3) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to any firearm that—

    “(A) is manually operated by bolt, pump, lever, or slide action;

    “(B) has been rendered permanently inoperable; or

    “(C) is an antique firearm, as defined in section 921 of this title.

    Yes, it means that you can keep what you already own. Actually, it means you have to keep it.
    This may appease some who already own one or more so called "Assault Weapons", but it means that you can never sell them, pass them down to heirs, or even loan one to a friend for a day.

    Anyone know a good way to get the point across that if we lose our gun rights, we no longer have a use for the Republican party... this bill is only about corrupting the US Constitution, nothing more...

    All you can do is keep contacting your reps and support those that can fight it in the courts. It's an uphill battle trying to convince those that believe in gun control.
