Kansas to allow residents to carry concealed guns without permit | Fox News

TOPEKA, Kan. – Kansas will become the fifth state to allow its residents to carry concealed firearms without a permit throughout the state.
Republican Gov. Sam Brownback on Thursday signed a bill ending the permit requirement. The change takes effect July 1.
The National Rifle Association says Kansas joins Alaska, Arizona, Vermont and Wyoming in having such a policy. The NRA says Montana and Arkansas have concealed carry without a permit, but not everywhere.
Kansas still will issue permits for gun owners who want to carry concealed in other states that recognize Kansas permits. A person seeking a Kansas permit must undergo eight hours of firearms training.
Brownback said gun owners have shown they are responsible.
But Democratic state Sen. Oletha Faust-Goudeau of Wichita said the state still should require some training.

And Texas is left farther back in the dust.............................

And for all the Fudds here in Texas, the desire to have constitutional carry in Texas is not a groundbreaking concept. It is becoming more and more commonplace as people realize there is no merit to the scary stories told by fear mongers.

While I really wish Texas would lead in this area, I am also stoked to know other states are taking the lead at least, especially states I would not have considered to be likely to take the lead.

That's how I feel about it. I'm really surprised by some of these states. Good for them.

Nice of you to wake up a 3 year old post. but hey you need to get your post count up so its all good.
I have a bad habit of not looking at post dates but this had a purpose. My Brother lives in Kansas and since we are both old men we my be behind times. Since I'm new I decided to take advantage of the sight and find out if it was true about Kansas CCL. He didn't know so I was trying to assist his search. Sorry, but glad we found the info, Thanks.

http://bfy.tw/5mTR That might help ya out.
I live in Texas and my brother lives in Kansas, is there a problem with where I find the information. I trusted this site for info to cross check but if it bothers you that I used it don't look at it or reply.
