Does the NRA and GOA work well together or...?
Agreed! But I wouldn't say GOA and NRA work well together, since I believe the NRA wants to be the only voice for gun owners. I am a member of several organizations and if the NRA wasn't the size they are I wouldn't be a member. I am a member of NRA and TSRA more for their power, then for their core values.Interesting question. I think both have to be respected for what they are. The NRA is the proverbial “elephant in the room” due to it being 5+ times larger in membership than GOA. But GOA is perceived to be a more consistent and stronger supporter of Second Amendment Rights.
I think it is generally recognized among the gun-owning community, contrary to their propaganda & PR, the NRA has a lower threshold of resistance to fighting 2A infringements.
I know the GOA has been vocal about and endorsed certain names for NRA Board of Directors, in the past. This probably doesn’t set well with NRA leadership. The NRA leaders (millionaire salaries) tend to remain quiet about this activity (at least publicly) while working to mitigate the impact of such outside influence.
I've not read all the threads.
