Does the NRA and GOA work well together or...?

Interesting question. I think both have to be respected for what they are. The NRA is the proverbial “elephant in the room” due to it being 5+ times larger in membership than GOA. But GOA is perceived to be a more consistent and stronger supporter of Second Amendment Rights.

I think it is generally recognized among the gun-owning community, contrary to their propaganda & PR, the NRA has a lower threshold of resistance to fighting 2A infringements.

I know the GOA has been vocal about and endorsed certain names for NRA Board of Directors, in the past. This probably doesn’t set well with NRA leadership. The NRA leaders (millionaire salaries) tend to remain quiet about this activity (at least publicly) while working to mitigate the impact of such outside influence.

Agreed! But I wouldn't say GOA and NRA work well together, since I believe the NRA wants to be the only voice for gun owners. I am a member of several organizations and if the NRA wasn't the size they are I wouldn't be a member. I am a member of NRA and TSRA more for their power, then for their core values.

Agreed; I don’t believe they play together very well either.

In the name of “full disclosure” I probably should have mentioned I’m a lifetime member of both organizations as well as a TSRA member.

I tend to view GOA’s culture and values as being more in line with my own than the NRA’s. Plus, I have a pretty strong objection to the ridiculously high salaries the NRA leadership pays themselves (historically, it wasn’t always the case). They should use more of that money in filing lawsuits to stop the infringement, IMHO.

I don't think that they work together at all but, I don't know for sure. It seems to me that it would be hard for the GOA to work with an organization that seems to be all too willing to compromise with the anti-gun machine. And vise versa, it would be hard for the NRA to work with a no compromise organization.

I wonder if the head honcho at GOA makes more than a million a year, then get a huge, multi-million dollar bonus as he was 'forced' into accepting it for tax reasons.

Hey, I like what the NRA and GOA do for us pro-gun guys, but a million a year salary, my ass.

Yes, some say if you want big brains you have to pay out big.

    But millions...no.
