Diversity is our demise. Diversity naturally goes against assimilation. The lack of which has created our division. When we promote diversity we have already said being different is desired. Women who marry wanting hyphenated last names is to be different. Shows their femininity and I think they are finding that some feminists don't have their best interest. Makes it easy in divorce. May be a bad example but it's like African-American. You have already said you are different and you are not one of us and therefore promotes thoughts of division not unity.

OK, got some more info on this place. Jack, the owner, told me that GAMA, Inc., gave him both 30-06 & 30-07 signs and "recommended" he put both of them up! GAMA is the Greater Austin Merchants Association. Does anyone know their political leanings? They are obviously anti concealed and open carry.

The fact that Austin is in its name already means it’s anti -gun and liberal to boot.

My guess is that the Austin Police Department has asked them to furnish those signs to all of their customers. Several years ago the signs all appeared at once.

I doubt it. A lot of APD tends to be pro-citizen carry. Even most of the command staff. Art was vocally against it. It is said that that Police Chiefs tend to push the councils agenda but I honestly believe that Acevedo believed that citizens should not be allowed to carry. Manley has not been vocal on the subject and never has been. I find it funny that some of the officers I deal with a lot tend to believe we shouldn’t be licensed to carry without training classes but some of the best shooters I’ve seen could out shot them and they’ve had little to no formal training.

This may have come from the City Council itself or the chamber of commerce.

The left wants everyone to think, talk and have he same ideals. When political correctness entered our society it was the start of what we see now. If something was said that didn't fit their thoughts, word choice and ideals you were attacked.
Today it has moved to free speech as long as it fits their narrative. Diversity is the code word for everyone needs to think, talk, act and believe the way I do because if that is accomplished I can have control over the population.
The progressive's need control over the population in order to make their agenda work. Look at the progression, racism, diversity in college population, political correctness, free speech and now socialism.
The black citizens inducted into a life of racism and kept on welfare for control. Colleges were unacceptable because the populations were not equal. The narrative had to be the same. The speech must include the previous ideals and cannot include any thing that hints of freedom of thought and ideas. Everybody needs to be equal and no one can have more.
All this prepares a society for the communistic values and government. America is one of the hardest societies to change to communism because she was built on freedom. People needed to be slowly indoctrinated here because of the freedoms that were here. Everyone of these steps have been toward that goal, 32% of the millennials elect socialism as their government. No where in nature is there not difference and this diversity is what makes it all work but the diversity the left wants is not that but uniformity.
There must be someone in communism that fills the politburo and those will be the ones who can control and convince the masses.
Look at the uproar over the Kanye West statement. He said that blacks were still thinking like they were people in slavery. This was unacceptable because it meant you weren't following any of the agenda. You can't think, talk or believe differently than we do or we lose control. And for what our goal is we need control.
The progressives need to control as many of the population as possible for the conversion to communism to be achievable.

I think that's a legacy from the change in definition of "American Indian." Back in the 1960s, being "American Indian" worked in your favor when applying for federal jobs.

Well, everybody can find something in their ancestry, right? The feds were overwhelmed with applicants who presented elaborate family trees to prove they were one sixteenth or one eighth (or whatever was the required percentage) "American Indian" in order to get a leg up on being hired.

So, the government punted. They outsourced the status determination job to the tribes by changing the definition to require tribal affiliation and recognition. Now, if a recognized tribal government issues you an ID card, you're a Native American. Bloodlines technically do not matter. If your new spouse can get the tribal government to agree, you can fly in from Norway being the whitest white person ever born, marry a Native American, get an ID card, and you become a Native American. Legally.

In practice, that doesn't happen.

But the change in definition meant tens or hundreds of thousands of job applicants were no longer given preferential treatment when applying for a federal position.

Social Marxism is a different idea than socialism, communism.
