I don't know what time the lab opens at the VA but I know if you show up at 0700 you've got at least a 90 minute wait.

At the Houston facility the VA puts your lab orders in a week in advance of a Dr appointment, so you can pick a time when the vampires aren't busy. At DeBakey, the line usually clears out after lunch from Wed to Fri ... sleep late, and hit WhataBurger on the way back.

I didn't have a choice, it was for a life insurance policy. I did tell them at the lab what I thought about it

The insurance companies use the cheapest & worst. Back when I was in my 30s and running 20 miles a week, a lab botched an EKG for my life policy & made it look like I’d had a heart attack. Had to go to my doctor and get s stress test and have him send a letter to the company.
