So I took it out for a few rounds today. No malfunctions, accuracy is very good despite me not being use to a single action trigger at all. I shot a variety of different bullet types. Low recoil Federal 165gr Hydrashoks, really old Speer Gold Dot JHPs, Winchester FMJs that had a truncated nose just like 40 S&W fmjs, Remington UMC and Winchester WB.

I mixed bullet types trying to induce a feeding malfunction but it kept chugging along. Very happy to where this is headed.

Only stopped because the gun was getting hot as hell and I ran out of time. I shot all of the rounds shown with the exception of 30 fmjs. Here is a before and after

Sounds excellent. I like the pistol's classic look.

I only have two 1911. A Colt Rail gun in stainless and Sig model. Like both of them. Both have been flawless. The Colt Rail gun was really tight when I purchased it a couple years ago. Took around 500 rounds to break it in. It's tack driver. Did come with a plastic mainspring housing. But doesn't bother me. I have a stainless replacement but haven't installed it.

That happens to me a lot, it's the old saying: Timing is everything.

Meh. At least it was only ten bucks. I'll think of it as "well, at least I didn't waste the price of two admissions to Market Hall this weekend." If it was more, I might make a stink. Like when Far Cry 5 went 50% off the day after I bought it. Got the refund, too!

Yeah, but come on, you would have paid $10 to have it two days sooner.

Obviously it was from their store. I have ordered from them and I will say they are fast in shipping, and I am very satisfied with their service.

Just had that discussion elsewhere. Sometimes it's actually at their store like in this case, and sometimes they have to get it "from the warehouse", i.e. the distributor. Then it takes quite a few days, and some people bitch and moan about how they can never reach anybody on the phone there. Settle down and be patient, LOL!

I've had to call them once when my online order wouldn't process. I guess I got lucky, they handled it very professionally and gave me free shipping for calling. In both orders I've done with them, for guns, my FFL had received the order within 3 business days, that's also about the time it took to receive non-FFL items at home.

I know I do my fair share of talking trash about 1911s but I do want to own atleast one so I am looking for suggestions. Should meet the below criteria
    • $700-900 (mid grade)
    • No Springfield, Kimber, RIA or Sig Sauer
    • Should run out of the box
    • 9mm or .45acp
    • Not looking for any budget guns
    • Light rail and decent sights are a plus
    Thanks in advance
Ruger is about the only option. New ones go for $800+/-, at least that's what we sell them for.
