Found this at the pawn shop and put a deposit on it for layaway.

Anyone have one? How do you like the Beretta 92FS? Is the stainless more desirable?

Seems about right. I've seen blue ones had in very good condition for $350 from time to time. No complaints about the Beretta 92FSs I've shot it just seems a CZ 75B or 85B does it better for about the same $$ and other guns do it with less weight. If you paid sticker on the gun at a pawn shop I've found there is ALWAYS wiggle room.

I was going to post the Blue Book price, but after seeing that there are about 100 variations, I gave up. The range for 98% condition was $425 to $925. There are 4 different barrel lengths, and more finishes than I care to comment on.

Personally, I like the way that they shoot, and would own one. Given the same choice, I probably would have purchased it also.

I have one and it it a sweet shooter, the wife likes to shoot it as well and is very good with it.
    Congrats on the find.
Mine is an older model in stainless made in Italy, the grips are different than the ones pictured and are held in with
    slot head screws.

also it is one of the easiest to take down for cleaning.

Very east field strip, very easy detail strip as well.

Shot the M9 (military name) a few times throughout my career. Never really felt good in my hand. It felt really big, but they are really tough and shoot great. Great find.

There are some police trade in's floating the market right now. Seems I remember $399. At any rate, that one you picked up looks a lot better than those. I'd like to have one, but others on the list ahead. Enjoy

They had $300.00 dollars in it. So they made their profit.
I hate the fact that EZ Pawn won't dicker on gun prices anymore. Though they do have a point that EVERYTHING they sell is covered by their 30 day guarantee.

Never have used EZ Pawn. I always like to get to the point where the manager is called to ok the deal. Got a 5in bull barreled Ruger MKII for $216.00 out the door that way in very good condition. Price as marked was $320.00 ish if I recall.

I should have been more specific in jumping topics.
I recognized the cash america tag, which led to the cost thing, which lead me to pawnshops and gun purchases, then to dickering for prices, which lead me to the comment about EZpawn.

I went from A to C without going through B.

92s are great pistols. I currently have two but have owned perhaps eight or more over the years. One went to my son as a Christmas present last year.

On the plus side they are light recoil high capacity 9's. Easy to strip and clean. Spare parts are easy to find.

They are big pistols which makes them hard to conceal. Trigger pull is generally clean if a little long on double action.

Your 92 has a stainless slide. The frame is standard Beretta 92 aluminum with stainless color finish.

Beretta forum has a 92 stainless http://www.berettaforum.net/ subgroup you may want to check out.

If you shoot alot, especially +P or even standard NATO 124 gr. you may want to invest in a recoil buffer to add life to the frame.

    Nice pistol!

    No sweat...

It takes a desperate man to pawn this Beretta for $100.

Saw another pawn shop temptation: a Walther P99 first gen with OD frame and one factory 16-rd mag for $449. Is this a good deal? Gun has the AS trigger.

A friend of mine just scored a NIB 90-two for $420. I looked it over and it had one clip missing and a tiny scratch near the sight(who cares??). Every once in a while you CAN find a good deal out there. Congrats on your purchase, I have shot only 84 series berettas in .380 but appreciate the accuracy, styling and reliability of the 92s. If it shoots well you'll think it's worth every penny regardless of what the original pricetag is.

Good find. I see blued 92FS's for that kind of money but never a stainless one. I am on the hunt for a used 92FS in the price range if anyone knows someone selling a nice piece.
