Title says it all. I finally got myself an ar15 not constrained by Ca law.

Totally different animal from my old featureless ar15 lol. Standard cap mags, pistol grip not considered evil, and a collapsible stock and no mag lock.

Can’t wait to take this beauty out. Got a damn good deal on it too.

Accidentally submitted thread without pix. Just updated that haha.

Can’t wait to take it out. I’m also getting a holosun red dot for it. I might mount my Nikon buck master on it but we shall see. I’ll probably leave it as more of a Short to mid range rifle.

    Gunz are icky.
Enjoy! Post pics of shot up targets.

Just out of curiosity was your Cali gun ergonomic or uncomfortable to handle?

Hard to reach the mag release, had a very steep grip angle which hurt my wrist after prolonged periods of shooting and was even worse when shooting prone.

It is a way to get around having maglocks. The idea was that not having a pistol grip of ANY kind and no collapsible stock would allow for having a true mag release.

Honestly I didn’t shoot it much. Lol. I’ve built a ton of AR’s but they bored me in California. Lol

Congrats! Welcome to freedom - now please help us out and make sure you truly leave California behind. Anytime the thought pops up "well, that's not how we did it in California", just go ahead and squash that.

Heads up - Primary Arms always has great sales around every holiday ;)

Meh just pointing out how great Texas is. Not so much this is how CA does it. Lol.

It feels like I’ve been released from prison or some shit. Guns that I own here would have caught me a felony in CA. Makes me feel giggly like a giant man baby.

Only been here for 2 months. I’m still trying to forget how ex senator Leland Yee violated me with his microstamping bill. Thank god he is in prison. Unfortunately he is in a federal prison here in Texas haha.

Now that you have so many more options, that could fuel your addiction.

Nice choice with that stainless barrel & moving to Texas. I have a build with a stainless barrel & it's a straight shooter... you'll like it.

Always nice to see Yee is in prison...funny how he's in there for gun running & happens to be anti gun for everyone else.

Yeah they had a few of the newer models but for some reason, this one just called to me. I’ll probably wind up going with a different rail in the future in a standard black anodized finish and I figured the stainless would look really nice.

the Price was also very appealing. Couldn’t find a better priced AR anywhere around town. I know diamondback is an entry level gun, but TBH, it’s hard to tell the difference between a $2k ar15 and a $550 ar. I’ve owned a lot of them, including noveske, but my favorites were always on the lower end of the price scale. That doesn’t apply to guns with monolithic uppers though.

    Gross...

Glad you can enjoy a real ar15.

Understatement of the century right here lol.

So done with CA. Freedom feels refreshing. Especially since I no longer stick out like a sore thumb with all my gun stickers on my truck. It feels very odd not getting yelled at in traffic for my political views.

Can’t wait to fully integrate into Texas life. I feel like I’m doing pretty well here.
