I am currently down to just one Glock. An old 17 Police Trade-In that I bought about 6 years ago. I had several others but had to sell them to pay bills. Hopefully that's all behind me now.

But anyhoo - the post topic is why I like Glocks. I'll just list the reasons:

    Durable
    Accurate
    Reasonable Price
    Versatility
    Parts and aftermarket mods availability
    Holster availablility

The versatility aspect is one of the biggest reasons that I like em. Take the G20 (or in my case, the G20 SF) - you can get all kinds of drop-in barrels for these. I had one that was 6" long for hunting. I had a stock length one for shooting cast boolits (bullets for the uninitiated). I had one to allow me to shoot 40 S&W. And there are other conversion barrels for .357 Sig. So that one pistol could handle three different calibers - or more.

The Glock is kinda like the AR-15 of pistols. Which is why I still have one.

I've got a Block as well. After two three years of carrying it daily, I can't wait to get rid of it.

    In up to 8 now
I'm kind of going through my older ones and enhancing the triggers beyond the Ghost connectors I put in all of them
I've been replacing the springs with ZEV and Ghost kits and using a dremel to polish the trigger bars, connectors and firing pin safety and making the triggers smooth and crisp
Also adding TFOs to the ones that dont have them already
I always loved them now I'm getting excited about them all over again
Took my 17 out Saturday morning and did this

I had a Gen 4 19 I really liked. I did have to have the RSA replaced by Glock and paid for a new ejector to get the erratic ejection fixed but that wasn't a big deal. I sold it when I moved back to CA a few years ago because I figured if I was going to be limited to 10 rounds, I was going to make them count so I bought an M&P .45 which I don't really care for.

I pretty much have S&W handguns now. I had the chance to try a buddy's G43 and liked it quite a bit. I might start moving back to Glocks for carry and shooting IDPA.

Glock is the only pistol I can fix immediately in the unlikely case that something breaks. That means a lot to me.
And I can mess with them if I want ... for example a 23 grip on my G22

I'm curious, for those that don't like them, what specifically do you not like? I primarily shoot and collect 1911's and have been trying to persuade myself to purchase a few modern pistols. For one, it will allow me to save my slicked up 1911's from the wear and tear of daily carry. So far the only modern pistol I own is a Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 9mm, I do appreciate the round capacity of that pistol, the trigger took some getting used to but I have it now.

I'm now considering a Glock G23 or Sig Legion P226, quite a price difference between the two. The Glock seems a rather good value, the Sig has more familiarity to me though, not sure how well I can get used to the Glock without a thumb safety. I actually added a thumb safety to my M&P 9, years of shooting the 1911 makes it feel weird without one. I've come to accept the bulkiness of a double stack pistol over a 1911 so that's not a factor. Any good reasons against the Glock? On paper the Glock seems like one hell of a good value.
