Interested in what you guys have to offer in regards to this manufacturer. I'm looking at a compact 357 concealment handgun they make. Thanks in advance for any input!!

P.S. Just saw this and had to add it! LMAO!! :spank:

As with almost all of the other manufacturer's revolvers, I am sure a Kimber revolver will go bang every time you pull the trigger.
A compact 357 mag revolver from anyone would be a little uncomfortable for me though.
I suggest you see if you can find one to try out at a local range. That way you know from experience if you like it before you buy it.
    Good luck.

    Gunz are icky.
Cabela's on I45 south in League City has some on display if you want to check one out.
They look and feel very solid.
    They are quite hefty.

I’ve been wanting to get one of those myself. But I keep emptying my piggy bank on auto loaders before I can get one.

I have two Kimber 1911s and have been quite satisfied with them. My one customer service interaction was very positive as well. As far as their revolver goes, it is nice and has a decent trigger, but I am not personally a fan of DAO revolvers. I still say S&W has the best triggers IMHO.

For the price I would stick with S&W. For 1200 you can get a REALLY nice piece that has more then 6 shots.

    $1200?

    Try $750 - 850.

Higher than a J frame for sure but 6 shots of 357 in a stainless frame, better sights and a better trigger.

I'd get one if I actually intended to carry a revolver.

    Those Kimber revolvers are nice.
If they ever make one with a 3" or 4" barrel and adjustable sights I'm buying.

The kimber 1911 I had was trash.

Ask any serious gunsmith if they'll build you a full-house custom from a Kimber if you'd like to know the truth

First, "lightweight" and "magnum" don't go together well. If you're firing 357s, it's a lot more comfortable to have some weight. Ruger makes some really nice revolvers at a far better price. Colt has the new Cobra in 38 sp that is pretty nice, and also a lot less money.

As for Kimber's reputation, as soon as you post "Kimber", you'll get somebody trashing them. At one time their semiautos had a really great reputation (and a lot of extra cost), but as they grew, they started having the same production problems as everyone else. I think because of the former reputation, people go out of their way to complain if they had a problem. Search any model by any non-custom manufacturer and you'll find somebody who had a problem. It happens. I've never had a problem with Kimber, but I had a Colt that was more of a nuisance than my in-laws. I've seen some pretty wild videos about S&W pistols - and, again, you get people with "I had a bad one, so all the S&Ws suck!"

At the end of the day, it's your decision regarding the pistol. If you like it, then it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks. My $.02.

I can't say I've shot any, but I have held a few. Although they seem very solid, the prices shied me away from them. Also in reviews, they never seem to be in the top choices.

    Have you ever shot a S&W 686?

686 pro center are so nice. I love my model 60’s but damn the 686 is amazing to shoot.
I have the 686-6 Performance Center, the trigger job they did on that is amazing. It's a joy to shoot, but I would only carry it in my leather jacket (5").

Only got one Kimber, a Micro 9, and that one has accidentally become my main carry gun. Bought it for the wife, she didn't like it because it was too boomy and snappy, so it wandered over into my pile instead.
It's reliable, accurate, nothing has broken on it, and it goes boom every time. It IS quite boomy. 9mm 147g in a little 1911 that weighs nothing point zilch, LOL. All I did was add factory night sights, oh and I had to put a few file strokes to the tip of the trigger because those ends were sharp and pointy a.f.
