It's gonna sUCk. All the new movies are just horrible. Pretty good trailer but it ends being dumb when you see it in real life. Lots of CGI but no soul to it. Even makes the popcorn taste like crap.

And I thought I was one of the only ones that hates all the CGI now a days.
I was thinking of going to see MEG this weekend but, then was like what am I thinking...you know it's nothing but CGI & you'll hate it.

    English please.

    CGI... computer generated images

MEG... it's a new movie about a megalodon shark.

Its a movie for crying out loud. Not like it means anything.... I believe its called entertainment? You lads certainly get intense over a flick. :)

Yes, but when its tooooooooooo over the top with CGI, it just ruins it for me.
I'm pretty sure it was when they came out with the new Star Wars Episode 1 back in 1999 that did it.

I’m taking my wife to see the new movie coming out about how the Mossad kidnapped Eichmann from Argentina. She’s usually not into that kind of movie but she surprised me this time. I think it didn’t get very good reviews but then again, I don’t pay much attention to someone else’s AH opinion.

Your probably right, it will not be the best movie ever. My appeal was in the correct modeling of the Soviet weaponry. In so many films, no one takes the time to try to use the correct hardware. It is very common to use stock footage of the wrong weapons, or of our weapons and call them the enemies weapons.
With CGI and an eye for detail, it is now possible to model and include enemy weapons that could never be shown in previous films.
I can only hope that the American military is portrayed well, and the battle scenes at least visualize the correct usage of the weapons from both sides.

Kids and wife went to see Mile 22 and said it sucked hard. Best part was Rhonda Rousy was in it for 3 minutes

I don’t go to many new movies , the last one I went to that I liked was Only the Brave, the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots

I'm pretty sure it was when they came out with the new Star Wars Episode 1 back in 1999 that did it.
When I first saw Star Wars, back in 1977 when it was still Star Wars, not Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, the error in the big space battle scene where a number of ships just disappeared was so shockingly obvious to me that it was all I could talk about. All the folks at school had seen the same movie, same print, at the same theater. Not one of them saw the mistake. They all thought I was nuts.

(Side note - I intended to provide a link to show the error but a very brief dive into "Star Wars Errors" on any search engine shows so many hundreds of errors across all the films that I got lost in the complexity of it all and couldn't find this particular one.)

CGI has to be done right for me to like it. I'm happy to see something over-the-top and ridiculous, like Valerian. I'm just not happy when they try to portray reality from an infeasible camera angle and wind up forcing the thought into my brain "When did this turn into a cartoon?"

A lot less realism than Tom Clancy material...but looks entertaining, I’ll watch it

With Star Wars, I had a very high suspension of disbelief. By the time Return of the Jedi came about, I did see a major flaw in the scene with so many TIE fighters flying toward the camera.

Watching any movie requires a certain amount of suspension of disbelief. I hope this one is in sync with mine...

It is entertaining to see things that you can imagine to be accurate.

I really really wanted the movie Stealth to be good. Awesome aircraft and great cast. They had to defy physics, with a 20 g Mach 4 chase through a valley. Top Gun had poor adversaries, but kept the physics realistic.

    I still have a little hope... :)

Well I finally saw Hunter Killer on the small screen on pay per view. It is an impressive movie.

Although I have never been inside a modern submarine it felt very believable.
Usually they make them too big on the inside. Even the hatches were correct, as far as I can tell. The torpedo room was top notch as a set. The appropriate amount of claustrophobia was present.

The story is a little far fetched, but I was able to maintain my suspension of disbelief. The characters seemed believable in their roles.

I really enjoyed the fact that the Russian equipment was impressively rendered and implemented.

So many things were done right that I have give the movie a 9 out of 10. With the point being removed for the unrealistic portrayal of the command and control onshore of our government.

I recommend it for the 2 hour thrill ride that is.

I thought I was one of the few that find the actor Common unappealing as he seems to come across as a holier that thou pompous ass. (maybe his parents named him that idiotic name, but I doubt it......)

I never saw the "Hunter Killer" movies, but I read the book. It is an excellent book, as are all the Patrick Robinson books. The guy knows a little something about subs.
