...am going to run subsonics and a suppressor so want to build it with an adjustable gas block.

I’m sorta green to all of this.
Can y’all recommend a gas block that’ll work?
Do I need to measure anything?
Says heavy barrel, is that a standardized measurement in choosing a gas block?

You'll need to measure the diameter of the barrel where the gas block will go. Since it's listed as heavy barrel, it could be .750" or .936".

I don't use a suppressor so I can't help you with an adjustable block.

Link shows a .750 diameter gas block seat, so that's the place to start. Clamp-adjistable is easier to install than set-screw/pinned if you don't have a drill/mill, just need to make sure you line the ports up properly (and account for front-plate offset on barrel)...

Here's a good example of one that works well (you want the .750 size)...

Also, just to be clear, you may not need the adjustable block, and they are most definately a "wear" (fouling) part - e.g. don't be suprised if you have some form of failure event after a few thousand rounds of hard use and need to replace it, particularly if making ongoing adjustments instead of set-and-forget (Guvnah adjustable blocks used to be available which were almost indestructible, if heavy, but alas no more...)

A suggestion might be to start with increasing buffer weight/reciprocal mass to slow down the action just a hair, and then see if you still need to replace the gas block..

I suppose I should see how it cycles with the can and desired ammo before I start mucking with it.

But I haven’t even ordered the can yet, so that’s gonna be at least 8 months LOL

There are some bolt carriers on the market that have weights that can be removed, also differnt buffer & spring combos will be a cheap alternative to play with. It's really going to depend on the load your using also.
Like you said you'll just have to experiment to see what she likes to run.

An adjustable GB is not needed and that was the intent when it was created. I run supers, subs on a Saker can with no problems and no adjustable GB.

But was it on a Palmetto Poverty Pistol?

I hear ya tho...my suppressed AR has eaten everything I’ve thrown at it so far...
