Only got one Kimber, a Micro 9, and that one has accidentally become my main carry gun. Bought it for the wife, she didn't like it because it was too boomy and snappy, so it wandered over into my pile instead.
It's reliable, accurate, nothing has broken on it, and it goes boom every time. It IS quite boomy. 9mm 147g in a little 1911 that weighs nothing point zilch, LOL. All I did was add factory night sights, oh and I had to put a few file strokes to the tip of the trigger because those ends were sharp and pointy a.f.
A small but significant QC issue, especially for the money they ask for them.

I own two Kimber 1911s, a .45ACP Custom II TLE acquired in 2012, and a 9mm Tactical Pro II that I got in 2015. Both have been reliable since day one.

If they ever make one with a 3" or 4" barrel and adjustable sights I'm buying."

Not sure but I think I HAVE seen a 3inch barrel advertised.

I could be wrong, but I think I've seen a 3" advertised. (I haven't checked the website). I've got a Colt Defender which I'm very happy with and carry it often. And, of course, it's a 45!

I would look at the Ruger SP101. I have the 38 +p model with a 2.25" barrel and its very nice and built like a brick shithouse.

I have no experience with the kimber but have seen some horror stories about their 1911s.
I'd stick with Ruger or S&W

    Gunz are icky.
Kimber does indeed have a 3" barrel revolver.
    It has fixed sights.

Next revo I'm getting is a Ruger GP-100. The Kimber will have to wait for now.

edit to add: The Kimber 10mm 1911 purchased earlier this year has performed great. Its actually getting better with use. Up to about 2000rds now and it runs perfectly.
