So they removed the account provided by Police, and are now going with the account provided by the defendant.....
That is journalism today. How about the next post, where the Journalist removed the Police account, and are running the defendant account? WTF is that.
I didn't read it like that. I read it as: "We're seeing so many contradictory statements that we're removing stuff till we know better."

The linked story doesn't present "the account provided by the defendant" in any more authoritative or detailed way than we've seen elsewhere.

    Or am I missing something?

They had sources in DPD tell them what happened, and they printed it and ran with it for 5 days. Journalistic standards are if you no longer believe in a story, you issue a retraction not just delete it.

So which is it? Are they no longer standing by the first story or not?

And why do they think the new story is accurate? What sources do they have to support that one over the first one? We know the source for the first one DPD, who is the confirmed source for the door being ajar?

Journalistic standards would have been to run it by way of "they said", rather than "this is what happened and we're reporting it as a fact."

"Many residents told NBC 5 they chose to live at the complex because they believed it was safe. They said keyfobs are needed to access each floor but that doors do not automatically lock when closed."

    WTF?

Or journalistic standards would be to confirm un-named source with another source BEFORE even running it but in the race to get headlines and sell pop up ads, that shipped failed long time ago.

Looks like you have it solved too! No, just going with the warrant. Manslaughter is NOT a slap on the wrist! My only question is if she (shooter) was not LE (or Caucasian), how would the agitators and press respond? Let's turn the story a bit. Your adult kid (or spouse/friend) who has a key to your house comes in when you are asleep, opens the bedroom door and you shoot and kill. What do you want to get charged with? Castle say you're OK but this is someone with permission (key) to access. As for witness 'testimony' - who knows?

I am pretty certain Amber Guyger shot and killed Botham Jean, but the circumstances surrounding it I have not drawn conclusions. I tend to follow Occam's Razor, and believe the Police version of events over a defendants. I can still see possible scenarios ranging from justified to murder.

    And I quote from Wiki;

While various existing codes have some differences, most share common elements including the principles of truthfulness, accuracy, objectivity, impartiality, fairness, and public accountability, as these apply to the acquisition of newsworthy information and its subsequent dissemination to the public."

And if that's not about the biggest pile of doodoo I've seen in a while.

Pretty sure after they issued the warrant it cannot be a justified shooting. According to MEDIA first report, she called it in as an officer involved shooting. DPD chief called for TR to avoid any suspicion of cover-up. Dallas DA issues the warrant. As such, she is on paid admin leave while the investigation is ongoing. My gripe is the same known agitators, lawyers & media getting involved, after the fact, with their agenda.

Me too. Apparently two sister that live near where the shooting happened, just happened to go to the families attorneys with their account of what happened. What happened to going to the Police? How did they find out who the lawyers are? Who is paying for these three lawyers they show on TV? I bet the family doesn't have the kind of money required to retain three lawyers these days.
This is another case of someone being tried in the media, before they ever have their day in court.

It only gets better, now full-blown politics has entered - The guy running against Faith Johnson is now on record for saying the charge should be murder.

Defense attorney John Creuzot, a former judge and prosecutor running against Johnson for district attorney, said in similar cases, suspects are charged with murder. The Guyger case is a "deviation from the norm," he said. "I am not aware of a case in which a person shoots another person in the torso, with death as the result, and is charged with manslaughter," Creuzot said. "In Dallas County, the longstanding practice of our law enforcement agencies, in similar cases, has been to charge suspects with murder."

    And more attorneys are agreeing:

But defense attorneys who've handled hundreds of murder cases say murder is the charge that best fits the case against Amber Guyger, who says she mistook Jean for an intruder. "She intended to kill the burglar," defense attorney Brad Lollar said. "Her thought process was 'I'm going to shoot the bad guy.'

    and

Longtime defense attorney Brook Busbee said the manslaughter charge doesn't fit what law enforcement said happened in Guyger's arrest warrant affidavit. "We don't know all the facts, but the facts in the affidavit don't appear to match the manslaughter charge, because the act of shooting him wasn't reckless," Busbee said. "According to the affidavit, in her mind, it was intentional."

Fast fact. The mistresses in both jail and prison are a filled with un-ginned cotton. It still has chunks of the seed shell.

The cotton is farmed on a TDCJ farm.

They take this lower cotton product and stuff what you could call, an Industrial Shower Curtain. The same material that's makes a shower curtain in jail. They make the mattress out of.

Inmate life hack. Sprinkle baby powder on the mattress before you put the sheet on.

The biggest thing that stands out in prison. There's nothing padded or soft. Nothing. Hard benches and and hard round stools. Carpet? Rug?...nah.

If she's not a lesbian. She will be.
