If you have a truck that is parked where field mice can chew on the wiring insulation, here may be some help. Especially as we head into Fall and Winter temps.
A few spritzs of this on the ground around the tires where the mice climb onboard can help - inside & outside the tires. (Cabela’s)

And of course, the old rat poison doesn’t hurt either. (Amazon)

Good info. Had a mouse chew through my Expedition's windshield washer line several years ago. That was an easy fix but annoying to say the least.

I put predator urine on tennis balls & threw them around my attic a few years back, when I was having raccoon problems.
Works for squirrels, too. I've advised multiple people that the way to get critters out of their attic is:
    • Find where they're getting in.
    • Apply fox urine to drive them out.
    • Wait a day or two.
    • Seal up where they're getting in.
People tend to neglect the first and last steps.

I also used a Hav-a-hart trap, removed 3 that way.
Actually caught two smaller ones at same time.

Yes. I sealed up the entrance hole.

I'm going to try that. I had set up a spring trap in attic and whatever critter that keeps scurrying around the ceiling. Robbed the bait off the trap without setting it off.

I can't set up the traps outside because of the cats and dogs.

Ill try the tennis ball trick. I'd save about $5 bucks if I convince one of my dogs to pi$$ on it verses buying a bottle of predator tinkle. Things might get tricky.

In my experience, the tennis balls are unnecessary. The last time I needed to chase squirrels out of my attic, I sprayed 4 or 5 spritzes of red fox urine around the attic entrance. Even though that's not very much and all the way towards one end of the house, they all skedaddled.

I think I would rather throw tennis balls into the attic than have my fat butt trying to walk on joists.

To each his own. I didn't walk on any joists, though. I literally poked my head up through the opening, sprayed a few times, climbed down, and folded the ladder back into the ceiling.

The scent will still reach those little jerks.

    Question.

Why does it have to be raccoon pee? Or coyote? If it's gonna smell like urine. Wouldn't low food chain critters run away from human urine?

I'm not saying drenching a tennis ball after about 5 beers. A few sprinkles. Just enough to broadcast a scent.

I dunno. I just figure the smell of my own urine is non-threatening. :)

Seriously, there's probably some reason that predator urine is recognized as a bad thing by pests. After all, if they couldn't distinguish the smell of one type of urine from another, they'd be running from their own pee all the time. Raccoons, for example, don't run from squirrel pee and vice versa or else they'd never co-exist in my back yard...which they certainly do.

But both will run away from the red fox urine I've sprayed in my attic.

Exactly what the difference is I don't know but I'm 99% certain there is a difference.

Well, if human worked. There'd be a history of positive results from peeing around a campsite.

There's definitely not. Ill look for some fox tee-tee because when the cold weather hit. The little Basturds are going to be nesting up. With a warm cozy attic being the thing to do. The tennis ball is good idea. I never thought about anything like that. I was setting over engineered death traps in a purposeful effort to royally mess them up.
