Why are the Rs putting up with this grandstanding political propaganda? If they can't say on topic (Kavanaugh) they should shut up.

    To All,

ImVho, it's time to close the hearings & vote to seat/not seat Judge Kavanaugh on the SCOTUS.

At this point it seems obvious that every Senator's mind is made up & additional time will result in NO change of any person's position.

    yours, satx

There is a process set forth for SCOTUS appointments. That process hasn't gone astray so as of now I have no complaints relating too it. I can't say the same for the political games of some of those involved.

The Dems were the last to make a major change to how a SCOTUS nominee would be put in place and now the "Nuclear Option" is the standard. Changes can cut in any direction. The bypass, if it actually held up and didn't cause an issue to start the process over, would also be plastered across every MSM news cast and used as a campaign banner regardless of the fact all votes had basically been decided.

    Younggun,

REGARDLESS of the facts, the so-called "mainstream press" will attack the GOP, as they are PRO-LEFTIST DIMocRATS.

IF everything that the LEFTISTS want was given to them on a silver platter, they would still be FILLED with unreasoning HATE & PREJUDICE against DJT.

Imo, it's long past time to QUIT CARING what the leftist HATERS say & start ATTACKING the leftists w/o mercy.
(Give me a couple of million bucks & I'll RUIN the leftists with radio attack ads on the "urban" & Latino media outlets, taking NOTHING for myself. = Frankly, I see this mid-term election as the LAST chance to save the USA from the BIGOTS & HATERS of the FAR LEFT.)

Now she asks if he agrees that some birth control case was correctly decided based on a right to privacy. He agrees.

She now turns that to the abortion is birth control argument which she knows he will not give an answer to because it will almost surely be back in SCOTUS at some point. Row V Wade was decided based on the same right to privacy argument.

    He won't answer.

Now she has asked if the government should have the power to make a decision about the make body. Fighting not to include my personal opinion on this.

She is asking if 5 justices can turn over any previous decision.

He makes it clear that it only happens under serious conditions.

She is still hammering it to get back to abortion. Crazy they are so worried about precedent being overturned yet they are eager to overturn Heller and get rid of the "common use" and "individual right" stuff that keeps hampering their efforts.

    Going to voter ID now.
Harris is an idiot. She asked if he can name any law affecting the male body. I'd start with Obamacare requiring me to have insurance and move on to mandatory vaccinations or quarantines.

All pro-death people ignore that abortion ends an innocent life.

Well.... the Kavanaugh hearing is over.

Senator Mitch McConnell says there will be a vote before the end of September (so the new Justice can take his seat on Monday, October 1st when the new SCOTUS session starts). They need to put “the wraps” on this thing and gett’er done!

I believe their greatest concern at this point is the November election.

But having a full court at the start of the session is a good cover :)

Personally, I think the GOP ought to just schedule the vote in the Senate at the first available opportunity and be done with it. It’s not like they’re going to change any Democrats’ minds.

Plus, I wouldn’t put it past the far left protestor nut jobs to try some final “delaying tactic” stunt such as calling in a building threat. (I think they’ve gotten that extreme!).

    busyknget; AustinN4,

I suggest that the US Senate schedule the vote to seat Judge Kavanaugh next week, as everyone's mind is made up.

The sooner that the vote is taken, the sooner that we can move on to other priorities like securing the border.

There’s actually two votes that must take place. That judicial subcommittee (aka, “the circus”), has to vote first, then it moves to the full senate. For instance, I’m not sure why Grassley didn’t schedule the subcommittee vote for today (Saturday)....or at least, Monday. Doesn’t seem like to me the GOP is planning ahead (allowing for any potential unforeseen disruptions).

    busykngt,

The committee's vote should be scheduled on Monday AM, with the vote of the entire Senate on Friday next.

The sooner that the final vote is taken, the judge is seated on the SCOTUS, the sooner the FOOLISHNESS of the DIMocRATS becomes even less important & the fecklessness & FAILURES of the DIMs is front & center for their potential donors to see.

    just my OPINION, satx

I am not the expert on senate policy, but lets say those democrats keep him from being confirmed ( along with a rino republican) can mitch just keep schedling votes? Like every couple days? Also can anyone explain to me how in the hell Tester of MT even has a shot at being reelected? With Manchin ( WV) and Donnelly (IN) they can at least claim "conservative democrat" for how their states are but Tester and McCaskill ( MO) are both rank and file liberals. Seems a vote for them is a vote against trump and he did well in both states. Anyone think the voters of those states are just stupid or am i missing something?

    phoenix,

ImVho, Tester & McCaskill are FINISHED already & will be leaving the Senate in Jan 2019.
(Remember the polls that show them "ahead" are the same polls that assured everyone that Hillary would win the race against President Trump.)

Feinstein referred something to the FBI that supposedly happened when Kavanaugh was in high school. Leftists I know are calling this "historic". All I can think is "Are you really this desperate?"

    SQL Geek,

    I would ask them:

    1. Do you think that every voter is STUPID enough to believe the foolishness & partisan LIES that you routinely peddle??
    2. Do YOU actually believe what you are claiming??
    and
    3. Don't you understand that the DIMocRATS Party is DYING, as every day less & less voters believe the LIES out of the DNC & DNCC.

    satx,
There’s a lot I agree with you on. However, the so-called “death” of the Democratic Party is not one. I’ve seen your posts espousing the imminent demise of the Democratic Party for at least the last couple of years. I’ve got news for you: the Democrat Party isn’t going anywhere.

Let’s suppose for a moment, you are correct. The Democrat Party is dead. It’s dead... dead as a door nail; it’s kaput, finale, muerto. It took its last breath, on January 8, 2019 and promptly expired. Thus ends the long history of the ‘Democrat Party’ going back exactly 191 years!

What will be the name of the political party that succeeds the name, “Democrat” Party? Because there WILL BE one! And does it make ANY difference, what it’s called? There still will be (and always will be), a voting option to conservatism. Whether you’re talking about fiscal/economic conservatism or social/societal issues, there will always be shades of gray and the body politic that reflects a multitude of those points of view.

satx, when you attempt to advance the notion the “Democrat Party” is dead (or will be), what exactly do you mean? To me, what liberalism is called or how it’s labeled is much less important than knowing, you’re NOT going to be able to fundamentally change human nature to do away with its concepts. Just like conservative values will always exist, so to, will liberal values.

So saying the Democrat Party is dead (or will be shortly) is nonsensical.

    busykngt,

While there may be an organization that is CALLED "the Democratic Party", imo, it will NOT be "the traditional Democratic Party of the 19th/20th Century", nor will it represent the "common folks" OR be in any way moderate/somewhat conservative.
Already THOUSANDS of "yellow dog democrats" are leaving or have LEFT the DP & are now Independents & (imo) this trend will continue, as the RADICALS don't want any "input" from anyone who disagrees with their LEFTIST dogma/policies.

Instead the DP of the 21st century will be increasingly FAR LEFT in outlook & policy. The remaining "modern Democrat Party" will also be ANTI-American, "internationalist" & HOSTILE to the religious tenants/faith of Christians & Jews.
It may well become a PERMANENT minority party & a NEW & moderate political party may appear between the GOP & the "modern social-warrior DIMocRATS" .

    yours, satx
