Finished 2 runs of 380. 500 each of the 100gr plated and 90gr XTP. Tonight or tomorrow I'll readjust my press for the cast loads. Hopefully I'll be able to get my wife out to the range soon to get used to shooting.

My Lee p1k was having some issues so I had to replace the carrier. Going to order a new one and some other parts from Lee today as well.

Last night as I ran through some cast 380s I realized I'm gonna be about 300 short. Hopefully we'll get some more cool weather and I'll go cast some more. Now's about the time I wish I'd bought the 6 cavity mold.

After moving to SATX almost a year ago to the day, I finally dialed in my Dillon 550B from the move. Made 1k rounds of 9mm range fodder and another 200 rounds of Hornady XTP 9mm rounds. Feels good to be back in business. Will start to follow and participate in this forum.

It only took me 2 months after my move, but I still feel like it was too long.

I started hand priming some 223 brass yesterday. I got about 550 done before my hands started hurting too much. Will try again when I get home. Only 1450 left to go.

I don't like the safety prime on my Lee single stage and the priming on the pro1k is too finiky. Still looking at the new Lee progressive and the turret press. Kinda torn on the 2 though.

The Pro 1000 can be finicky. It’s really important that you use CCI or Winchester primers and make sure the little slide is clean. Hitting it with a light shot of Teflon spray can help too.

Also helps to chamfer the mouth of the primer pockets to help the primers line up.

I’ve had no issues with my Lee classic turret or single stage BMG press. Use them regularly for priming. Worst part is placing the primers. Considered the feed for them but doesn’t look all that great.

Ya that feeder is the safety prime. Both the turret and the new progressive both use it as well. I can go pretty quick just by hand though and I don't mind it. What I really want to do is eliminate the case prep stuff. Clean, deprimed, clean again, Trim, chamfer, deburr, ream... Doing all of that one step at a time wears my hands out even more.

I've been learning a little towards that press. I almost bought the auto breech lock pro but something came up and I couldn't get it. I also found that it won't do mid sized rounds without manual indexing. I still like the progressive but I'm on the fence. When I get money enough to get it I think it will come down to which one I can find on sale.

I don't have any problems with the primer feed on my turret press. In fact out of all of the ways I prime I prefer the Lee turret.

How do you like the newer Lee powder measure?

I tried a Lee progressive and didn't like it. Way too finicky. I sold it and bit the bullet on a Dillon. Comparing the two it's not even close. From what I hear the Hornady is really good too.
