Normally I take the advice and echo the sentiment not to screw up a good gun....but I did go ahead and convert the Winchester M 97 shotgun into a 97 Trench gun......
    1. The value of the shotgun in original condition was about $200.00-$250.000
    2. Value of a real 97 trench gun $3000.00 to $6500.00 depending upon condition.............
    3. Value of the faux 97 Trench gun....$650.00-$750.00...........

The bayonet is a correct Winchester marked 1917.................

So....I actually made the shotgun more valuable by screwing it up............crazy.....

Picked up a J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co. No. 350 SXS shotgun in 12 gauge. Wood has been refinished/replaced. and frame has been case hardened. I think it is from the early 1920's. Tubes are made of High Pressure Steel

Here is a rare glimpse of my trusty single shot lever action Ithica. I was a blood thirsty sportsman back in those days. I still have the gun. Glad the perch pimp didnt see this pic. There is a few illegal species in that batch most likely.

I started with single shot .12 gauge Stevens at age 13. That thing was full choke and could reach out and touch something further than some some folks might think possible. Also kicked like the proverbial mule. lol.
