I just want to ask y'all to NOT vote for the Democrat nominee.
I've heard a fair amount of talk against the Bush boy. I ain't a fan myself.
But, some Republicans with some stroke are asking people to vote for the Democrat. Just to kick Bush out. Thinking, "we'll get it back next go around".

Please don't . Don't embolden them, don't let them think they have a chance at a state office. Please.
If we don't want Bush, then let's petition to have him removed after the election.
Then an appointee can handle it till we get a decent Texan on the ballot.

    Thanks for reading.

    For a little more info.

I used to go do research on every office I could vote for and make an informed decision. The behavior of the Democrats over the last two years has convinced me to vote straight ticket Republican, then go through all the different elections and if there isn't a Republican running, I will vote for whoever is running against rhe Democrat.

When I was young - admittedly a long time ago - there really wasn't a huge difference between the parties. Some southern Dems were more conservative (particularly with the military) than many of the Reps. But times change and somewhere along the line, the Socialists took over the Democratic Party. Private ownership of firearms is not compatible with socialism. Socialism works fine in ant colonies and bee hives, but I don't wish to be an insect ruled by a queen.

Now I have to say that I don't like the current Republican Party. Many of them are just as crooked and self-serving as the other party. I wasn't a big fan of Trump, but I really like what he's done. The economy is stronger than in a lot of years and we no longer apologize to every foreign country, like that commie that sat in the White House before Trump did.

This is not a political forum - it's about guns. Unfortunately, there is a powerful group in this country that wants to take our guns away - either in one swoop or by chipping away at the 2nd Amendment until it crumbles. They NEED to take the guns because they can't have anyone stand up to them when they take everything else. I will not vote for the socialists. I will not support them in any manner. If a candidate belongs to the party of Clinton, Kennedy, Pelosi, Reid, Feinstein, and Sheila Jackson Lee, they belong to an organization that expects to take away my rights.

The push against Bush is surrounding revisioning the Alamo. He’s let the contract to some carpetbagging Yankees that want to move (or remove) the cenotaph and tell the story that Sant Ana was a saint and the defenders are just a bit player in the history of the Alamo.

I’ll give them this: if it weren’t for Santa Ana, the Alamo wouldn’t exist today and San Antonio wouldn’t be the city it is. But that didn’t happen because Santa Ana was a saint.

For the first time in many elections, I’ll be voting R across the board.

I will be voting, with some hesitation, for Miguel Suazo (D). George P Bush is a foreign-funded anti-Texas liberal that has continuously violated state laws since taking office - an office he had no qualifications for and used name recognition and out-of-state money to 'primary' the man that authored the 1995 CHL law! Bush has proven himself to be absolutely crooked, awarding contracts to donors and concealing GLO operations from public scrutiny required by law.
He needs to go back to Florida and stay there!

Sent my absentee ballot in two weeks ago, checked the box for straight Republican and, I checked each one individually ... don't trust the liberal machine in Harris County. I'm still uneasy that USPS will get it there and it will be handled properly.

And yes, I held my nose and checked Bush for Land Commissioner, but getting damned tired of being forced to vote for the "lessor of two evils".

Just remember, there might be some races without an R running. Could be just a D and an L. In that case I usually vote for the L, and always against the D. You can't do that if you vote straight ticket. You would have no vote in that race.

There was only one of those on my absentee ballot ... a democrat running unopposed for a Justice of the Peace position.

Agreed. You obviously have to do your “due diligence” in reviewing the ballot. But it’s not uncommon for a position to run “unopposed” so that you have no voting option.

No bull. P intends to 're-imagine' the Alamo as a Spanish Mission, and not where Texas Partisans were killed by the tyrant Santa Anna. Just because he has an R next to his name doesn't make him a good guy, the man is an enemy of Texas.
    https://alamoendowment.org/preservation-design-partnership-selected-to-lead-alamo-master-plan/
SAN ANTONIO – Preservation Design Partnership (PDP) has been selected to lead the Alamo master planning process, bringing over 20 years of experience in heritage planning, design and architecture on iconic U.S. projects including Independence Hall, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the Virginia State Capitol. Led by nationally recognized thought leader George Skarmeas and preservation planner Dominique Hawkins, PDP will work in association with San Antonio-based Fisher Heck Architects and Grupo De Diseño Urbano (GDU) of Mexico City, firms that specialize in local history, historic preservation and landscape architecture.
    .....
    Grupo de Diseño Urbano
GDU is an an architectural design and landscape design firm based in Mexico City that was founded in 1977 with a background in urban planning and significant focus on parks and public spaces. They’ve worked in prominent ecological restoration projects in World Heritage Sites including Xochimilco Ecological Park and Chapultepec Park, Mexico’s largest park, which won awards from the American Society of Landscape Architects and others. Other World Heritage Sites projects GDU has created are the Archaeological Museum of the Northern Cultures of Mexico. They are currently working on the local restoration of the San Pedro Creek for Bexar County, the San Antonio River Authority and City of San Antonio. Please visit their website at gdu.com.mx.

P is removing the Texas heritage from the Alamo and making it a 'World Heritage' site.
He's also grossly mismanaged the GLO - the guy exudes incompetence - as audits have revealed. He is crooked, crooked, crooked!
    https://foift.org/2018/02/09/internal-glo-draft-audit-slams-unusual-use-non-profits-manage-alamo/
On Dec. 5, the state Senate Finance Committee questioned Land Commissioner George P. Bush and the agency’s general counsel, Jeff Gordon, about the three nonprofits the General Land Office had set up to manage, promote and raise money for the Alamo — each with its own mission but with identical boards made up of Bush and 10 of the state’s most recognizable movers and shakers.

What most vexed the senators was that Alamo Complex Management, the nonprofit responsible for day-to-day operations of the most iconic site in Texas, was entirely funded by public dollars but without the scrutiny and transparency that is supposed to follow those dollars.

    https://www.expressnews.com/news/lo...aft-audit-critical-of-the-way-he-12566457.php
The report echoes concerns raised by legislators that the state agency’s creation of three separate nonprofits to aid the Alamo is confusing. The San Antonio Express-News discovered that one of those nonprofits recently wrote a check to another for more than $65,000 to correct an accounting error.
    .....
The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, a women’s lineage organization, served as Alamo custodians from 1905 to 2011, then daily operations contractor until Bush terminated the group’s contract in 2015.
Why did P get rid of the Daughters oft he Republic of Texas?
