It's getting increasingly difficult for me to deal with this.
Another mass shooting of fine young Americans. Killed while enjoying our freedom.

I, like most of us, have a safe full of firearms that could ruin lives.

I feel we must not interfere with our right to bear these arms.
I find no way to stifle those who would cause the infinite sorrow of a father of a pointlessly murdered son.

Do we just accept the fact that, every week or two, some insane man murders a room full of innocent Americans while playing or praying or living life?

    Yes.
    I suppose so.

Who among us will be pointlessly murdered by a random mass shooter in the next few weeks?

Almost certainly, some innocents among us will be dead before x-mas.

I don’t think we accept it.

    We try to prevent it.

We have our LTC laws in Texas because of the Luby’s massacre in Killeen.

Last year, a heroic person with a LTC stopped a potential massacre

Those poor victims in California had no security and no way to protect themselves.

Harden the targets. Stripping firearms out makes them soft. “Gun Free Zones” are nothing more then target rich environments for psycho paths. What pisses me off is this guy was known and had a clear violent streak as well of reports of being unstable. This is going to really push them to go hard on gun violence restraining orders ( or what ever that bill was called). You’re family or coworkers can call you in as a threat, they take your firearms and you Assessed over a period of time before they give you for your firearms back.

And they will see an increasing number of mass shootings, and cry that they need to ban more guns harder everywhere.
There are always going to be bad people wanting to do bad things. The only way to stop that completely is to have complete control, which is to take away any means in which things can be used to hurt others. The consequence is to take away any means to defend oneself. The more security you have the more freedom you surrender, and people don't understand that cost. Most politicians want power, and it's more difficult to gain power in a free society.
