All in all we are only one election away from becoming a blue state. Just look how close this election was here and in FL. Damn! turn us blue and we will always have socialist presidents and can't stop them. Look at PA, WI, and MI states that voted for Trump now are blue again.

    That's nice.

The R's and the D's have done more to limit my liberty than any 3rd party candidate ever has.

    toddnjoyce,

ONE thing is CERTAIN.= The DIMocRATS came close to turning the election here BLUE on 06NOV18.
ImVho, we Texicans just cannot afford "protest votes" for any 3rd party, though I agree with about 90% of Libertarian & Constitutionalist Party platforms.

As my beloved grandfather used to say, "Opinions are what causes horseraces."

Why does it have to be a “protest vote”? How about I actually agree with some of the Libertarians over the other two candidates? Are they going to win? Probably not yet, but why should I vote for someone I don’t agree with? If people truly vote on issues, why vote for a candidate that doesn’t hold my values important?

Most Republicans and Democrats are taking us to the same horrible destination, one is just trying to get us there first.

    BigGreen,

ImVho, the GOP will NEVER be the DANGER to the USA that the FAR LEFT RADICALS of the DIMocRATS Party are in 2018.
(Imo, the Libertarian Party nor any of the other 3rd parties will, in my lifetime, have any real chance of winning a TX election BUT the DIMs can.)

    yours, tex

    toddnjoyce,

NOBODY is arguing anyone's RIGHT to vote for anyone they choose but rather if it's WISE.

In a nutshell I think the two main parties can be summed as Dems are BIG GOVERNMENT and Rs are BIG GOVERNMENT-lite. Fewer calories, still as bad for liberty.

The GOP has no idea how to sell conservatives principles. And since about ‘14 I don’t even know how you would do it. As the left went mental we are left with an impossible starting position from which we can get them to listen.

The scary part of the article is the last paragraph...

And what they're not saying is besides getting young people to the polls, whatever they can do to discourage conservatives is also going to be a strategy.
