... willing to spend a bit more for the quality. Talk to me

With that statement in mind, I put a Viridian X5L on my P226 a few years ago - great little light with a green laser to boot. Believe they can be found for 250-ish. Might be worth considering, depending on how much higher your budget ceiling is.

    Good luck!

Negative sir. I put it on 3 years ago... haven't removed it since!
Have fired a thousand rounds or so with it attached. Lots of holster practice and carry. Hasn't budged at all.

Note: Mine is the Gen 2.

I haven't tried the latest olights, but have two of the older models, and while bright/convenient, don't like how they auto-shift down to a lower lumen level....

If you want a light that will be dependable, and bright, you cannot go wrong with a Surefire X300 series. You can use the standard or Ultra series for ridiculous lumen output. I have used the Surefire X300’s and Scout series long gun lights for years (numerous downrange rounds). A benefit is the CR123 batteries which, have a long shelf life. My go to pistol/rifle wears a Surefire. You will pay more up front, but as they say, “ buy once cry once.” Hope this helps.
