The consolation is few make it this far.

A ton of relatives and friends are now gone.

I guess that's better than a consolation instead of joining them.

Well, of course I will sometime and so will you no matter your age..

Millennial, yep you're gonna join the dirt nappers eventually, though at this point you don't think so...it'll happen - the grim reaper comes for all even those who sponge off their idiotic parents who let them.....

You're aware that half of millenials are over 30 right? I've got 2 friends that are Millennials that will be 38 and 39 within the next 6 months. We're well aware of mortality at this point. Now, the younger ones are still in invincible mode, but it's not a fair generalization.

As an aside (this thread is already way down the rabbit hole), I came across this the other day:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xennials

"Xennials (also known as the Oregon Trail Generation and Generation Catalano) is a neologistic term used to describe people born during the Generation X/Millennial cusp years, typically from the late 1970s to the mid 1980s. People who identify with Xennials, Oregon Trail Generation or Generation Catalano do so because they do not feel they fit within the typical definitions of Generation X or Millennials."

As somebody that fits into this era, I have thought this for a long time. Evidently others do too.

My son (born 1979) certainly doesn’t consider himself to be a millennial. We’ve had that discussion before; nor does he fit that mold (he’s quite the workaholic!). I hadn’t heard of Xennials before (thanks for sharing that). I sent that link to my son to get his reaction. I’m guessing he won’t look favorably on that either - he just doesn’t like someone trying to “label” him!

I could not care less what generalizations and/or other ‘isms’ other people want to broadly label people with.

For example, one can apply Millenial to a 29 year year old SOF Officer/NCO or a certain female freshman representative from NY and it’s meaningless.

But label that same 29 year old SOF dude a veteran and the chick an idiot, and it becomes much more relevant.

One of the differences I see today in generations is the ability to read and write. Technology is great, but it's made people lazy and with each new generation it seems to be getting worse. It used to be reading was a way to unwind, today it's a chore. And writing has become letters on a keypad.
