...I would hate to see towns and cities degrade like Boulder, Co. has...

I think Boulder and Seattle got trashed because they were the first to legalize for recreation, and folks flocked there, much like they did and still do to Haight and Ashbury.

My personal opinion is that nationwide legalization would not lead to the detriment everywhere that you see in those particular areas. I guess we'll see what happens with Canada.

I have mixed feelings about pot. I don't believe it's the so called "gateway drug" that it has been termed. I would hate to see towns and cities degrade like Boulder, Co. has, but I haven't seen evidence it's more harmful then alcohol, physically. I have seen the results as a pain reliever, and that was evidence to me as a medicinal purpose. I've heard, but can't say I've seen evidence, that it cures certain ailments. So medicinally I am all for it.

I do believe that the money spent over the decades to eradicate it has been fruitless, much like the days of prohibition of alcohol, Therefore I lean towards controlling it like alcohol.

    I will try again.
Pot is not necessarily something to lead you on to more potent drugs. I am acquainted with a few people that have smoked on and off for years.
Addictive? Maybe. IMO, some folks have "addictive personality". More prone to addiction. Others that can take it or leave it.
What I have seen is the gateway to the world of drugs. If you are hanging around with people smoking pot you are eventually going to run into someone with some coke. Or worse. It is the crowd that provides the gateway.

    Amazing

Smoking tobacco is harmful to your health.

Breathing smoke from burning leaves in the Fall is harmful to your health.

Being a smoke eater fighting fires is harmful to your health.

“Smoking” e-cigs is harmful to your health.

Sucking down mj smoke is beneficial? Really?

eta: I forgot to mention the harm of inhaling smog, mold spores, coal dust and asbestos too.

CBD still fails a drug test. CBDhunn is still illegal in Texas. ‘Nuff said...

Not all CBDs are THC, but all THC is a CBD. And yes, there are some false positives, apparently related to whether the CBD is sourced from a hemp or MJ plant. .

Hemp-based CBD oil is, and has been, legal in Texas for years. MJ-based CBD oil is what falls under the Compassionate Use Act.

While I'm still not sure about full scale legalization, I am very pro decriminalizing small personal use amounts....not worth clogging the courts over and having folks with arrest records who other wise are not criminals.......

    jmho.....

I agree with this possibility. Makes sense

FWIW, my brother's last few days on earth, were definitely made better by CBDs, or at least I should say his comfort level. When he got to the point where he couldn't keep any food down, we headed to the green shop (this was in CA) and got him some high-concentration dope gummies. It really helped not only to keep his food down, but also managed the pain and nausea.

It was far to late in the game to look at them as any type of treatment, other than making his last couple of weeks a lot easier on him. I personally thing we spend a lot of resources to track, arrest and house dope slingers... and perhaps it's time to stop fighting it, and start managing it.

While there, an old back injury flared up, and I was in a lot of discomfort. I picked up some CBD while at the grow shop, and as sure as I'm a lousy shot, in a day I was fully mobile again. Don't care if it was coincidence, placebo effect or it helped my spasming back chill the hell out... it "worked" for me too.

That pretty much sums up the experience my fiance had in her last couple months, except it was MJ cookies. The pain was so intense that it was hard for her at times to communicate before then. She was allergic to opioids.

My brother was having horrible side effects from the Morphine and Phentenol, there wasn't much "standard" pharama could do. His hospice car doctors did write him a scrip for Marinol, but the stuff we got at the weed shop worked a hell of a lot better.

So I'm at the local convienience store when I overheard something. An over the counter wonder drug opiate replacement. So I bought a bottle. Still haven't tried it, due to new medications and needing to research it a bit more.

Anyway, it's called Kratom. The bottle I got is Maeng Da, the most potent red vein variety.
Anyone else heard of this? Unlike CBD, this stuff also alters you mentally. ( In a GOOD way.) WAIT!!!! That's what all the skitzers and dopers say about their drugs. IDK....After I settle into my new meds, and have a day to waste, ( if this stuff messes me up so I don't feel confident leaving the house), I'll give it a shot.

Met someone at a bar once that kept going on about his kratom importing/sales company. I don’t remember the name of his company but he wouldn’t shut up about it and how much money he was making.

    Entertaining nonetheless.

For a bit over 10,000 years. There's yet for a person to have ill effects from smoking cannabis. It's far from asbestos.
