I've launched the RCOMS YouTube channel. It's going to be a mix of videos about me, the practice, oral surgery, medicine, dentistry, and stuff I like. I would like to upload some surgery videos but first I have to research all the legalities.

My target opening date is Dec 31, 2018. There is a small change I could get open earlier and a chance it could be in January 2019. I'll start booking appointments in December.

    Thanks!

I looked at your oil change video and when I saw the hammer come out I was like...
An oil change should not involve a hammer;)

Go get you one of these..

    And one of these.

I have about 4 different types of oil filter wrenchs in my took box because you never know what you are going to be up against.

What I do to prevent having to stab the oil filter like that is buy the little plastic socket the grabs the shoulders on the end of the oil filter. Then you just screw it off with no issues, 99% of the time.

I need the self-adjusting filter ratchet/socket thing. I hate those cups that fit on the end of the filter but I had to have one for my mother-in-law's car. I'd rather drive a screwdriver through the filter than use those things.

I still don't know why the dealership cranked that filter on like a head bolt.

I just looked at Amazon. Every style of wrench has people saying it didn't work. I'll stick w/ what I have and used a screwdriver as needed.

No more do I drain out oil before changing it.

I use an oil extractor, yes, you still have the oil filter removal mess, but not having to drain it is a wonderful way to get the old oil out.

They cost about $58.00. I use mine for anything that requires oil changes. Out of the crankcase and right into a container.

    Easy.

I'm posting up a few videos later tonight. Stuff about the practice, me, and lying scumbags in the industry.
This should be good. There are plenty of them out there. I've worked for a few myself.

    Indeed.

I use an Extoil oil extractor and never need to get under the vehicle. The oil filter cartridge on my Ram Ecodiesel is accessible from the top and is easy to remove. Oil extracted via the dipstick tube, and works out to be the easiest oil change ever.

I still like getting under there cause I do my own whatever-point inspection. Just a look around to make sure I'm not missing something.

Been there, done that in the oil change. A close friend bought a hunting vehicle and the oil filter was damn near welded on. Finally removed it using a screwdriver, hammer, and a lot of curse words - not specifically in that order. Hope y'all enjoyed your Thanksgiving trip.
